Florida's new coach

Featured Replies

Can you elaborate on why you think so? He hasn't exactly torn it up at UM.

I do agree with you I'm just wondering why you think so?

I will state the obvious... his system + Florida speed = success.

Same reason I was thinking. Makes sense to me.:thumb:

I think Rich Rod would be a good fit there.

He has his dream job.:sssh: But he would be a good fit with all that speed that UF has and will always have.

That is why I think he could work at Florida.

Rich Rod is a pretty good coach. He made WVU relevant for the first time since Major Harris played there. He pretty much wrote the book on the Zone Read, something almost every school runs some variation of.

No reason for Meyer to leave Florida.

Would Kiffin be interested in the dome?

Now that would be a match made in heaven.

Let's face it folks, any of a number of coaches would look good inheriting the program and its players that Urban Meyer has assembled.

Very true, but only a few, if any could sustain the success U.M. has had.

Agree with fellow Gator fan Big Spikes Coach Meyer and Coach Saban at Alabama are no doubt two of the best in the country and I think best two. Both have lots of talent to work with but both Bama and Florida expect National Championship each year and so far Coach Meyer has come close to that level and Coach Saban getting there.

If Meyer leaves, BK has to be at the top of the list. He is a spread guy that insist on having a great defense. He's a Meyer-clone, and would be more apt to stay for the long hall, IMO, than Meyer.

They would have to give Strong a good look though. It might get ugly if he doesn't become the coach. Can't really say much more about it on here though.

Petersen would be a good hire because of Brantley, but UF would have to change the way it recruits offensive players in the future.

Rich Rod would be fine there. He is a good coach. He's a square peg in a round hole, and playing chess with checker pieces. Michigan doesn't want the spread, and they don't have the players to run it. They can get there, but they may not give him a chance. If they give him time, UM will be back to a National Power.

Chip Kelly isn't leaving IMO. He's got too much invested at Oregon.

I don't see Kiffin leaving, or ND wanting him. They would be a nasty combo though IMO.

Whittingham would be a good choice, but I think he would be more of a safety option.
