November 3, 200916 yr I've been concerned about Antoine...I mean Big Cuz since he arrived, however I liked his game tonight. He will play hard or he will not play. I think he'll play. Good game.
November 3, 200916 yr Scarheel it sounds like your giving the WildCats some love! However, Patterson role will be the go to man down low and out at the top and hopefully his scoring will help us beat Louisvile and UNC! LOL We are Baaaaaaaaaaack! Go Big Blue! Don't Hate Participate in the Big Blue Mania Baby! lol I'm giving them what they deserve. I'm not a hater like 90% of non-UK fans are on this board. If their good, their good. :thumb:
November 3, 200916 yr Here is my complete breakdown of the game including basketball analysis, plenty of quotes and a couple of "cool" things that happened: http://www.allkyhoops.com
November 3, 200916 yr I had full intentions of meeting LRCW last night but I never could find him. So you never made it to the concession stand?
November 3, 200916 yr Cousins played really hard last night. He will be one of the best big men in the conference this season. I did comment on my live coverage: "If Cousins' career ever heads south, he'll become Raymond from White Men Can't Jump (1992)" He has some attitude, but he uses it to his advantage. He is a brute down low. I sure didn't see him playing hard on one defense position a C-ville guard drove to the hole caught him flat footed and drew the foul then next time down the court UK is in press he doesn't hustle back C-ville rockets down court and gets a layup due to his lack of effort. Granted I only say about 10 to 15 minutes of the game but Cousins looked very unimpressive down the stretch especially when the rest of the team seemed to pick it up. Also I would take, Patterson, Vernado, Buckner (Ole Miss freshman big man), Tasmin Mitchell, Michael Washington, and Wayne Chism over him right now. He may prove me wrong but I just saw too much lazy in him last night.

Give Cousins some slack. He came out & played hard - for the most part. It's difficult to keep the intensity level that high when it's your first game & it's against an inferior opponent. The biggest guy for Campbellsville was like 6'6''. If Cousins isn't going to play hard, he won't play much. With as talented as this roster is, Cal won't run somebody out there who isn't going to give a full effort.
November 3, 200916 yr Some good things and some bad things. * Perry Stevenson will see limited playing time in meaningful games. * Dodson is a shooter and will take every open shot he gets. * UK has a ton of athleticism on this team and everyone can handle the ball * Although an exhibition game UK had way too many turnovers, many were because of carelessness. * Demarcus Cousins will be a beast this year on both offense and defense. * Eric Bledsoe will become more loved than John Wall before the season is over. * Hood did well in his action, hustling on defense and making some moves on offense. * This team is going to be something special on defense. The way this team goes after the ball is amazing and the shot blocking ability of Cousins, Patterson, and Orton will help UK score more points in transition. I think he had like 11 points in 5 mins... I would say that is impressive.
November 3, 200916 yr I think he had like 11 points in 5 mins... I would say that is impressive. Perry has always looked good against an inferior opponent.
November 3, 200916 yr I think he had like 11 points in 5 mins... I would say that is impressive. If only UL, UNC, UConn , and the SEC were filled with 6'5 centers and power forwards.

Mitchell plays a 4 or 5 in the LSU system and with all the talent lost from last year will play 5 at key times this year I would suspect. And I'll give him the benefit of the doubt if he picks it up later I just think after what I saw last night claiming he will be one of the best in the league this year is a tad premature. There are plenty of other big men in the league that will produce more right now.
November 3, 200916 yr :idunno: I will be impressed when they kick the crap out of a good team not a Campbellsville team.
November 3, 200916 yr I will be impressed when they kick the crap out of a good team not a Campbellsville team. I get what you're saying, but there were lots of positives to take out of the game last night, for those who watched the game. First & foremost, UK's defense. Had it not been for a dumb foul @ the end of the 1st half, Campbellsville may have only scored 9 points in the 1st half. That's right...9! I think they only had 3 made baskets in the 1st half.

At 6'7'', Mitchell projects as a 3 on the next level. I love his game & was disappointed when he chose LSU over Kentucky.
