November 3, 200916 yr Author The same can be said for the person everyone on here seems to love in Josh H. The only games he has looked good in has been against bad teams or scrimmages. That is why I never been on the Josh H bandwagon. Neither Stevenson or Josh H. probably will get many minutes. However I think Stevenson would help the team out more than Josh H can. Eh..maybe...If UK ever goes cold from the outside Josh H could see time, Stevenson jumper is :puke:
November 3, 200916 yr Eh..maybe...If UK ever goes cold from the outside Josh H could see time, Stevenson jumper is :puke: Stevenson's jumper is ugly to look at. However he does seem to do a pretty good job at making it. He has a pretty decent rid range jumper when he is open, and also showed when he is open he can make a three. Josh H. basically is the same way except. Stevenson though can finish around the basket better, play better defense, rebound better, and can block shots. So overall Stevenson brings a lot more in to the game than Josh H.

Don't forget that Perry Stevenson hasn't caught a pass cleanly in 3+ years and that he travels over 50% of the time he touches the ball.

November 3, 200916 yr Did you expect anything else? UK is so good this should have happened! By the way...Coach Cal stated he saw good, bad and ugly. I watched the post game press conference. :D:D I was at the game, so I could have been the ugly he was talking about.
November 3, 200916 yr I think the way he scored his points was what Cal liked about his play. You wouldn't see him put the ball on the floor and drive to the goal last year.:thumb: And we won't this year.
November 3, 200916 yr I agree, although it will also allow offensive rebounds. Some good things and some bad things. * Perry Stevenson will see limited playing time in meaningful games. * Dodson is a shooter and will take every open shot he gets. * UK has a ton of athleticism on this team and everyone can handle the ball * Although an exhibition game UK had way too many turnovers, many were because of carelessness. * Demarcus Cousins will be a beast this year on both offense and defense. * Eric Bledsoe will become more loved than John Wall before the season is over. * Hood did well in his action, hustling on defense and making some moves on offense. * This team is going to be something special on defense. The way this team goes after the ball is amazing and the shot blocking ability of Cousins, Patterson, and Orton will help UK score more points in transition.
November 4, 200916 yr Scarheel thank you your one of the first UNC fan that gives us credit! Also, I'M crazy Big Blue Fan but I respect UNC Tradition with great players and a guy that is in the same Gym with Rupp Coach Dean Smith who you have to say no matter who your favorite team is he's a First Class Act Coach! It's going to be great Year to be back in the mix and to be competitive with UNC! Go Big Blue! My hats off to UNC!
November 4, 200916 yr Since when are you the coach? It has nothing to do with coaching. Why would he suddenly do something against D1 competition that he hasn't come close to doing in 3 years?
November 4, 200916 yr Don't forget that Perry Stevenson hasn't caught a pass cleanly in 3+ years and that he travels over 50% of the time he touches the ball. So I guess you are one of the people who thinks Josh H would help out UK more this year than Stevenson can. May I ask why you think this? I mean what does Josh H bring to really help this team out? Josh H basically only will make threes when he is wide open. Stevenson also is very capable of making three's when he is wide open. However Stevenson also does other things that would help the team out more than Josh H.

If this was Iowa girls basketball from the 60s and 70s where the played 6 on 6 with 3 playing on the offensive end and 3 playing on the defensive end ol' Perry would be perfect. He would never have to touch the ball and could just work on blocking shots. However, people who don't understand defense think that ol' Perry is a really good defender simply because he blocks shots. What about the shots he doesn't block because he's chasing his man to the bucket? What about the ones he doesn't block because his man has backed him so far under the basket that if ol' Perry jumped up he'd hit his head on the rim? He's OK in small spurts. More than 12 minutes and he's a liability overall. Harrelson , too, has limitations.

If you look I have said he is going to get limited minutes. However I just said he should be more than Harrelson because I believe he helps the team out more than Harrelson does. Harrelson has many more limitations than Stevenson IMO. Harrelson can't finish down low, he wont be someone on the dribble, he can't create his own shot, he gets his shot blocked a lot if he does try to shoot over someone. Is slow and can't play defense, and not the best at rebounding. Harrelson really brings nothing to the table except being able to make a three if he is wide open. I just have never understood people's love affair with Josh H.
