Shawnee forfeits games…brackets changed

Featured Replies

Isn't this the second time this has happened over there? AD not doing what is supposed to be done to observe eligible athletes? They will forfeit Fort Knox-Moore games (creates 3-way tie). Etown now finishes 2nd and Shawnee 3rd. E'town will host North Oldham and Shawnee travels to Western Hills.

This is probably after the Staffs have went over film and put in a game plan.:ohbrother:

And we all thought Fort Knox had a 39 game losing streak. Apparently they had broken that two weeks before Bardstown!

Western Hills' staff had already gone over film and formulated a game plan. Team went over basics yesterday and watched game film of E-town, now all for nothing. I am assuming it will be today/tonight before Hills gets film of Shawnee. Would mean at least tomorrow before the team gets a game plan, which only leaves 2 real days of practice. This really puts Western Hills behind on preparation. Anyone have any idea about Shawnee's off./def. schemes? Hills had geared def. game plan for E-town's passing attack, which I am sure is much different from what Shawnee runs.

Good point. I believe Shawnee is a predominantly run team, but don't quote me on that. I would think, however, that it would be easier to convert from pass-to-run defense rather than the other way around, especially at the high school level.

The time and energy to put together a detailed game plan for a play-off game is great for a high school coach, and to lose all of that is HUGE for a team like Western Hills. Hills has a talented team, but their week to week preparation has been a big beneft. Now instead of 4 practice/film days they only have 2 days. If Shawnee is a run first team, that would seem to make a change easier on the defensive side. I am still suprised that they just caught this illeliglble player for games a month ago.

Was it just now caught, or just now ruled on?

Do not know if just caught or just ruled upon. That is a good point I had not thought of - waiting on a ruling. If that is the case, hurts Western Hills almost as much as Shawnee!

Not to mention North Oldham and E-town that had prepared for another opponent as well!:irked:

Had they only knew! Somehow, I think it's still small consolation for Bardstown fans.

Tell them to call STan Torzewski at Bethlehem.

Wow...........That's tuff. I wonder if it's one the kids who transfered from Western.

There's alot of bad blood between the two

It's hard on all teams involved...in other words, nobody really gains an advantage. All must make adjustments.

I'd say we'd have to give E'town as gaining an advantage, as they will now be playing at home as opposed to hitting the road.
