Sounds like the guy was just trying to put a little spin on the article referencing Halloween in the quote with the Trickery and treats line. I wouldn't put much into it. Boyle was the better team, which I felt they were going in. I expected a low scoring game, especially in the conditions. Christian has struggled on offense in several games this year and Boyle's defense is solid, so, I didn't think they'd have a lot of points and Christians defense has been there strong point all season...

Boyle is the real deal. They are looking like a shoe-in for an upcoming title.

Good win for Boyle. I think I said they would score 21 points. The prediction of 30 and 40 points was ridiculous. I think Christian County had 5-6 starters who didnt play, including their QB (Davie) and WR (Tandy).

 

I would agree with you Scribe that at the time it sounded ridiculous. But of the 5 turnovers that Boyle had they were driving down the field on about 3 of them. But that is why we play the game and turnover are a part of it. I believe that if had not turned it over than we could have probably scored on them. :idunno: Good win for the Rebels and good luck to CC in the playoffs.

Boyle County was definitely the better team. Not taking anything away from Christian County because they are a good team. With that being said, there are no excuses for Boyle County on the turnovers. Rain or not. Boyle County should have, could have, but didn't blow the game open for a good lead early. The Rebels still have some things to work on if they want to reach their ultimate goal.

For as of the turnovers. 3 where caused by Christians County's noseguard. IMO with a wet ball, Boone took a second longer to make sure he had a good grasp on the ball. By this time the noseguard also had a hand on it. Best noseguard I've seen in a long time. He was causing the Rebel O fits the entire night.

 

Christian County's offense I felt was going to break one at any time. To shut this team out, was the biggest feat Boyle has done this entire season. Lamar Dawson, Grant Aumiller, Devin Cox, Brian Ferrell, Chris Cook, and company made some big time hits last night. #5 for the Christian County caught the ball over the middle and got "Jacked". The ball flew up and was intercepted. It seemed to me #5 took a hard hit after another hard hit all night long. He has to be bruised and sore this morning.

 

My question for Mcduffen is, How do you over look the #1 team in 4A that is 9-0 this season, 22-1 over the last 2 seasons, and won 5 state championships in the past 10 years? :idunno:

The only thing that CC needs is fans in the stands. I personally counted 30 or so in the stands at the start of the game. It was Sr. night and while introducing the players there wasn't 10 people sitting in their section.

The atmospheric conditions for the game was horrible, but wow what a place to play. The stadium of champions was everything we heard it would be. The Rebel fans travel well and with huge numbers. Several times this year, we, as the visiting team have more fans in attendance than the home team.

 

Rebel I agree the noseguard was a handful. However we did a really good job against such a good athlete. To be so small slow and nonathletic (sorry could not help myself) they sure open some nice holes for Mr. Football.

I thought CC's defense played very solid last night. Fortunately, Boyle had just enough big plays to make the difference. Of course, Boyle's D was very solid as usual

 

After the game, we were driving back to my mom's house to stay the night and were listening to the post-game wrap-up on the radio. The radio guy said that if Boyle didn't have Rees McShara CC would have won the game. He didn't say "might have won", he said "would have won". Interesting comment I thought because I can't remember the last time a score of 0 was a winning score.
