October 26, 200916 yr The tip pass was luck, but the pressure on Farve helped make that luck... :thumb: It was a screen...they are designed to show pressure.
October 26, 200916 yr So Favre tells their coach not to call plays to give it to AP? Any proof he doesn't?
October 26, 200916 yr It was a screen...they are designed to show pressure. Farve had pressure in his face all day. He threw the pass high because of the rush. Look at it anyway you want, Steelers made a great play!
October 26, 200916 yr For a while there I was very concerned my choice to invoke the ghosts of the '70s would backfire on me when it came to my jersey choice of Jack Lambert. But he came through in the fourth, with two big defensive TDs to also help out my fantasy teams! Did you complete the ensemble with the Jack Lambert teeth?

Yes the pass was a little high, but it hit the back in the hands and was not a bullet. Taylor should have caught the ball. He wouldn't have gotten very far, but that pick IMHO is on him.
October 26, 200916 yr Rather be lucky thank good..... Come on JA. Here's your chance. I'm asking you in a public forum. Avatar challenge when your good Bengals come play our lucky Steelers? What say you JA?
October 26, 200916 yr Some thoughts on the game: 1. Chester Taylor drops 1 out of 1000 of those passes. Steelers were in the right spot when that fluke happened. 2. Brad Childress challenged a play in the first half that wasn't remotely close, then gets in a shouting match with one of his coaches on the second challenge, which he won by the way. Seems to me that someone in purple needs to be the designated "throw the red flag" guy. 3. Ike Taylor was not "swaggin" yesterday. 4. Mr. Gay wished he was back in Louisville yesterday when AP trucked him in the 4th quarter. 5. I question some of the play calls by the Vikings in the run game. Aaron Smith is gone, yet the only runs called to the defensive left were toss sweeps. Point of attack was never right off tackle that I recall. 6. The Steelers kicker must have still been drunk to have chest bumped Harvin as he "tried to make a play" on the kickoff return. Only part worse was that he was only able to kick the stinkin' thing to the 11 yard line and the kick was low. Hard to chastise the special teams when the guy is at full speed at the 30 due to a horrific kickoff. 7. Ben was average yesterday. Brett was also average. You can look at the discrepency in totals, but the time of possession was largely in favor of the Vikings. With the exception of the turnovers and sacks, the Vikings win this one by 2 touchdowns. 8. Rashard Endenhall has had the the M dropped from his last name in tribute to all the footballs he has dropped on the turf. 9. Max Starks had his best game of the season to keep the NFC sack leader under control. 10. Steelers have major issues to address. Thank the Lord for a bye week.
October 26, 200916 yr Author Here's a story about another historic meeting between these two franchises, although not on the gridiron. It's worth sitting through the whole video for the expert commentary by Keith Jackson and The Juice (yes, that Juice), including OJ's interview with Franco Harris at the end.

October 27, 200916 yr The D came up big when it needed to! :ylsuper: :thumb: Bend, but don't break. The Vikings may have amassed some yardage and moved between the 20's, but Pittsburgh stoned them in the red zone. Ultimately, that's all that matters.
October 27, 200916 yr Is it me, or does JA always disappear everytime you propose this challenge? :sssh: I don't bet with Steeler fans who Welsh.
October 27, 200916 yr I don't bet with Steeler fans who Welsh. I don't know of Spindoc betting history, but I know I am in good standing. :thumb: I would do the bet with you...
