Pendleton County is twice the size of Bracken County. Pendleton has had a change in attitude. They have some nice athletes. The QB has came into his own.

 

They are twice the size of Bracken County enrollment-wise, but they dress about the same amount of football players as BC(mid-to high 20's). BC even hired PC's assistant coach from last season(McIntosh), but still have not had success. There has to be something more than just a change in attitude for this nice of a turnaround. Who is their QB? Is he an athlete that plays multipule sports? PC has always had somewhat success since the beginning of their program when Coach Carver was there. Where is he at now?

Coach Teegarden is a great football coach and he is also a great catfish noodler. Congrats to Lee, Dave, Scotty and the wildcats

 

Coach T is the best coach in that entire district...hands down.

What a great,great season for Pendleton County. What is there secret on such a turnaround with only dressing 27 players? Are there players multi sport athletes(baseball,basketball), is it just the coaching and style? Do the parents stay out of things? Just trying to get a handle on this, because you have schools like Bracken County,similar in size, that haven't won a game in 4 years. Could all PC fans please chime in as to what PC's secret is, thank you.

 

The kids on the team have bought into what the coaches have told them and the coaching staff is getting the most out of what they have and implementing great game plans. Coach Teegarden needs to be the front runner for coach of the year IMO. Great job Wildcats!:ylsuper:

Yes, I was there and the game came down to six factors.

 

1. PC came out throwing the ball and making plays against a suspect secondary of BC.

 

2. Defensively PC did their homework and successfully shut down the BC ground game.

 

3. Heart- PC game in this game with alot of it and it showed.

 

4. BC performed horribly defensively. Missed tackles, lack of reading routes.

 

5. BC has to do something other than run the crap out of Tee. Teams are keying in on him, we know it - they know it. What I am saying is we can run the crap out of Tee, but we have to make the Defense worry about other options than just Tee. They don't have run like Tee to be considered a threat.

 

6. Heart- BC came in and got rattled again and the Bourbon County of old came out on the field. Arguing amongst themselves. Pointing the finger. BC lost their heart after the first score by PC.

 

This is IMO.

 

In no way am I degrading the performance of the young men at PC. They did a great job and Congrats to them.

Obviously a change is not going to occur in one season. Remember, this is Teegarden's fourth season with his first class as seniors that had him all the way through their career.

All of these points are correct. BC is very young especially in the secondary. I would not give up on the BC program just yet as they play alot of very young kids. If they get in the weightroom and work BC can build a very successful football program.

 

If BC can beat Paris this week they will have won as many games this year as they have in the past 5 years total.

 

Congrats to Coach Teegarden and the wildcats as they play very hard. Guess that is why they are 6-3 and have a good shot at being 7-3.

One dimensional teams are rarely good enough to win consistently. From what I have seen and heard Bourbon is definately a one dimensional team.

 

Someone needs to tell Belfry, Russell, Bell Co., Johnson Central, Scott Co., just to name a few of that.

Here is the Raiders passing stats for the year 17 of 61 that is 27.8% (BC has a 30.4% completion rate) Trimble has thrown 10 Ints against 3 TD passes (BC has thrown 1 TD pass and 1 Int) Trimble has thrown for 304 yards (33 yards a game) and BC has thrown for 135 yards. LET IT FLY RAIDERS!!!

 

Also they have one common opponent Owen Co. which TC lost by 16 points to and BC beat Owen by 21 points. See if you can get your coach to call Poynter and see if they would like to schedule a game.

Who said that Trimble had a high flying offense? It's funny...Poynter used to hear "Let it fly!" at Trimble a lot. But he never would have turned lose arms of QBs that had such high interceptions to complete ratios against a Frankfort team in particular.

 

And I'm not really following the Owen Co comparison. Bourbon (4A) beat Owen (2A) who beat Trimble (1A). Poynter's Raiders did not beat Owen Co in his first year, either. Perhaps if Bourbon wants a 1A opponent worthy of playing them, Frankfort might be the better fit. I know that Poynter and Foley have some common history and the two teams are geographically closer, so that seems a good fit to me. I know that Poynter always wanted to beat Frankfort when he was at Trimble, and maybe with more horses at Bourbon, that could happen.

 

Lastly, in honor of my friend LBBC, congrats to Pendleton on the win, but good luck to Bourbon in the playoffs! Do you have to do more than show up at Paris next week to win?
