Pendleton County 21 Bourbon County 14

Trimble was alot more diverse in 06 and 07 as in 06 they rushed for 2250 and passed for 1302. 2007 TC rushed for 2963 and passed for 1740. That is not one dimensional. :sssh:

Those stats seemed to indicate a balanced attack. A team that has a running attack can be extremely successful playing at a high level as long as they execute and have a balanced running game. Bourbon has run in the A, B or C gap 95 percent of the time. Very few sweeps, no option, boot or counter just isolation and maybe an occasional trap. Maybe they can't run the option or the sweep. I do know they have recently began throwing to the TE. No need for anyone to get up and arms, Bourbon has improved. Early on they were sucessful as they got more base looks, recently they have faced opponents that sold out to stop the run and the Colonels have been unable to adjust.

Plus they lost 3 very good offensive linemen to injury.

Good point. I belive Bourbon lost three starting lineman the week of Harrison County. Not many teams could lose three starting linemen and be able to compete against a good team. Also the Colonels have played 11 straight weeks counting scrimmages, they have not really had an open week. I would venture to guess that they are a tired team. Have to also give Coach Poynter credit he always knows when to call on the TE for a big play, keep it up. GO COLONELS.:thumb:

With this big win, Pendleton has earned a date with Lexington Catholic! How do they match up with the Knights?

Probably about like the Colonels. They need weather made for an Arc for this one.

Like I said previously, Bourbons coach is the best in the state, hands down. Losing 3 starting OL and still competiting with teams. I mean, he not beating them, but he is still making it close. Not many coaches can lose 3 OL and keep games close.

 Dont think losing 3 starting OL would hurt a team that has no tradition (5total wins in the last 5 years)and is a power running team? Just a question?

The 5 wins in 5 years is a little misleading and over used. Bourbon won three games last season and returned 5 senior linemen and a very talented back field. They played a soft schedule this season and I think most expected 5-6 wins.

Well, all of the PC players will live in Pendleton County.:p:popcorn:

Why can't people just answer questions? There was no need to bring up the private verses public question. I was just wondering how people feel about this match-up and giving my congrats to Pendleton for a successful season. Oh, for your information, any STUDENT/athlete can go to any school in the state that they wish as long as they pay a fee. Why, I believe that the city of Louisville even has open enrollment! Let's get off this issue and give credit to our young men and what they have accomplished, whether it be Lexington Catholic or Pendleton County.

Agreed.

Pendleton is alot like BC in this match up against Lex. Cath. unfortunately.

PC uses most of there young men on both sides of the ball and with LEX. Cath. will be hard to stay fresh. Not taking anything away from PC but it is the proverbial David and Goliath at this point. Same goes for the BC-Boyle matchup.

THe 5 linemen that BC used this year one was a Jr. that did not get to play last year because of a shoulder injury, one was a senior that had not played since he was a freshman, and then 3 seniors that started last year and one of them had to have knee surgery 3 weeks ago. The next 2 linemen that BC used were both sophmores one of which did not play last year.

BC also lost there leading rusher to graduation and there fullback was also a senior. Poynter moveed the QB to RB since the starting RB from last year graduated. So the QB for this year is a sophmore. The other RB is a freshman.

Also BC lost there top 4 rec from last year that totaled 899 yards. I guess that is why BC is one dimensional this year. First year starting QB that is sophmore and all WR are gone.

Not looking for arguement just stating facts. :isurrender:

Ultimately, we put younger players in key roles on the line that were vacated by injury and still played stronger than we had in past years. Win or lose 80% of the parents are behind the program. More important that shows that 100% of the young men playing are behind the program.
