Who said that Trimble had a high flying offense? It's funny...Poynter used to hear "Let it fly!" at Trimble a lot. But he never would have turned lose arms of QBs that had such high interceptions to complete ratios against a Frankfort team in particular.

 

And I'm not really following the Owen Co comparison. Bourbon (4A) beat Owen (2A) who beat Trimble (1A). Poynter's Raiders did not beat Owen Co in his first year, either. Perhaps if Bourbon wants a 1A opponent worthy of playing them, Frankfort might be the better fit. I know that Poynter and Foley have some common history and the two teams are geographically closer, so that seems a good fit to me. I know that Poynter always wanted to beat Frankfort when he was at Trimble, and maybe with more horses at Bourbon, that could happen.

 

Lastly, in honor of my friend LBBC, congrats to Pendleton on the win, but good luck to Bourbon in the playoffs! Do you have to do more than show up at Paris next week to win?

If you have a kid that is averaging over 225 yards a game on the ground, why wouldn't you give it to him 30 times a game. The Owen comparison is due to the fact that both TC and BC have played Owen this year. I think that BC wouldn't mind to drive to Bedford for a game.

All of these points are correct. BC is very young especially in the secondary. I would not give up on the BC program just yet as they play alot of very young kids. If they get in the weightroom and work BC can build a very successful football program.

 

If BC can beat Paris this week they will have won as many games this year as they have in the past 5 years total.

 

Congrats to Coach Teegarden and the wildcats as they play very hard. Guess that is why they are 6-3 and have a good shot at being 7-3.

 

Agree 100%. They are young. Not sure if it is just weights that is needed. Not arguing the point that it can't hurt.

Here is the Raiders passing stats for the year 17 of 61 that is 27.8% (BC has a 30.4% completion rate) Trimble has thrown 10 Ints against 3 TD passes (BC has thrown 1 TD pass and 1 Int) Trimble has thrown for 304 yards (33 yards a game) and BC has thrown for 135 yards. LET IT FLY RAIDERS!!!

 

Also they have one common opponent Owen Co. which TC lost by 16 points to and BC beat Owen by 21 points. See if you can get your coach to call Poynter and see if they would like to schedule a game.

 

 

I am sure that Coach P would like to schedule Trimble County (20. Trimble Co. 20.5, Class A). Could be a good game for the Colonels & Coach P, would really get them ready for the 4A playoffs. The Colonels wins speak for themselves. The Colonels beat Pendelton County last season, but lost to Franklin County. Finished 3rd last season and with out the addition of Holmes they would again be 3rd. However on a positive note the Colonels have rushed for a lot of yards and almost beat Harrison County.

I was in no way stating Trimble had an amazing passing game or offense for that matter. I was simply stating one dimensional offenses normally arent the greatest, the names you mentioned above are the select few that have created success with not much diversity on offense. Bourbon and Trimble 06-07 are not included on that list......:sssh:

Trimble was alot more diverse in 06 and 07 as in 06 they rushed for 2250 and passed for 1302. 2007 TC rushed for 2963 and passed for 1740. That is not one dimensional. :sssh:

Not to threadjack, but Russell has had pretty good success running their "one-dimensional offense" over the years.

 

This was a good win for Pendleton County. They seem to be much improved this season.
