Keeping Odom and adding Artest was just huge for the Lakers. Can't say I like Artest's hair too much.:thumb:

Kind of makes the season seem pointless, but I think it's because one or two players make a difference more in basketball than they do in sports like football or baseball. :thumb:

May 19, 201016 yr My super ballsy Lakers pick seems to be working out ok so far. The NBA is so hard to figure out. :lol: I attribute that to the impact one player can have on a game...unlike any other sport. Starting pitchers in baseball can do more, but they don't play every game. So, ultimately, guys like Kobe and Lebron, who play every game, both offense and defense, have more impact than stars in any other sport. Thus, I believe, you get more consistency at the top in basketball. It's a solid theory. One I'm sure isn't new.
May 19, 201016 yr ^ Which is why winning titles is so important in a players legacy. Basketball may be the only sport where the weight rings are given in "who is the best" debates is fair. Sometimes I can think we put too much stock in the rings in certain arguments, but at the same time, you're splitting hairs with a lot of the all-time greats and rings are sometimes the biggest difference. It's warranted in basketball, IMO.
