October 16, 200916 yr I left work early today and watched the ENTIRE incident on television. When the balloon landed and it was empty I couldn't help but think back to the Geraldo empty Al Capone vault story. Only this time, I was glad the story ended without a climax.

October 16, 200916 yr Ding Ding Ding.... It's hard to convince kids to lie to cops and for parents to pretend to be that frantic for a joke. It's way more believable to me that the kid was hiding on his own. Maybe I'm just a skeptic. If it was a hoax by the Dad he should be financially responsible for all the government money spent on the rescue and charged w/ a crime. I just can't jump to that conclusion.

No." The kid said he went to hide in the attic because daddy yelled at him for fiddling around with the balloon earlier in the day.
