October 8, 200916 yr A few years ago I thought the D-League had real potential, particularly when they implemented the One & Done Rule in College. I thought that the Big shoe companies were going to infiltrate the college ranks and lure the 1 & done players to the draft, to the D-league for a year, and then to the NBA. It seems as if Europe has taken advantage of it instead... It's all about the $$$ and Europe has WAY more to offer than a D league salary. It did see like a decent idea a first but I wouldn't be shocked to see it squashed after the WNBA goes under.
October 8, 200916 yr How about having a D-league team for a little while to gauge the interest and whether or not the area would be able to support a team? Sadly, I think the d-league would have a much better chance at succeeding than the NBA team. No chance. It would go over about as well as the semipro teams that pop up every couple years in Kentucky and struggle to make it all the way through their seasons without hemorrhaging money.

October 8, 200916 yr Cincinnati has a love for college basketball. I do not think it could balance an NBA team also.
October 8, 200916 yr It wouldn't surprise me if Louisville doesn't make a push for one after the arena is built. I remember going to some Royals games as a kid at the Gardens. I love basketball and would like to see it. The state of Kentucky would have to make a big push like they are doing for Kentucky Speedway for it to happen. I don't see Cincinnati even trying to get a NBA team.
