He did not run much, but he was not sacked much either, seemed to always get the short yardage when needed and he had a very good OL. T has just always had an elusive QB the last few years who ran around until the coverage broke down and then hit an open man. T has also had some very big , good LB's the last few years that make it hard to run. T has also had a RB & WR who could score at any time, I just don't see that this year.Maybe they can win in Dec. but I think St.X will have and the edge again.

Trinity will be there in the end and once again be waiting to come out for round two of what has become a yearly two game saga. This may very well be the year X can finally throw the knock out punch and take home the crown but to do that they will have to stand and take everything the Rocks will have to give and thus far X has not been able to do that. In 2005 Trinity on paper had no business winning the Title against an X team most fans on both sides acknowledge as being one of the best teams ever. This year reminds me a lot of 2005. We shall see what will be.

I will concur with you that any St X fan that thinks that number 36 or state title 13 or win 15 for 2009 is in the bag, please see 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008 years for reference. I don't know why a Division 1 running back running behind a division 1 lineman gets stopped at the 1 by a converted offensive lineman but it happened on the state title game in 2005. I don't know why St X is at the 1 yard line ready to make it a 2 score game and jumps offsides and drops the game deciding interception but it happened in 2007. I don't know why the fullback is 3 for 3 on the year on halfback passes for TDs and the receiver is open by 15 yards again on that night and we throw a duck in the middle of the field. I don't know why St X waits until they fall behind 21-0 before they start playing in 2008. Some will say coaching on both sides so if that theory is correct then the X men are in trouble this year. If X makes it to Bowling Green and somehow advances against Trinity, then maybe those players from 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2008 will be asked to join them on the field. Until then, keep the head down and stay focused.

X beat T by a similar spread last season only to lose in the playoffs. The game was not that big a gap and Tiger fans know it. Trinity showed me enough in this game to give me confidence that they are beginning to click offensively. We'll be ready to play should the Tigers make it.

St.X is listing titles in football from before the KHSAA started to actually give them. I am a firm believer in looking only at KHSAA sanctioned titles as true titles. Anyone that saw my argument with the "All A" folks would know that. I respect the fact that St.X won "titles" in the days before the KHSAA, but the only ones that are counted officially are KHSAA titles.

 

Similar to how Lacrosse, Hockey and men's volleyball titles are great as little "club" sports but they are not official titles and thus are not true state titles.

I admire the loyalty of X fans, in saying every year that this is thier year. However, until you beat Trinity in either November or December, you'll only be 2nd best.
