That too was the first game I thought of but I also remembered another.

 

If memory serves in the Class A title game in '77 I think that Frankfort tried a FG and it was short. As the two sides began to just "let down" a Bellvue player picked up the ball and ran it either for a TD or a big gain to set up a TD.

 

Then again, maybe that was too long ago for me to remember correctly. :idunno:

 

You are correct. The game was played at EKU. The attempted field goal was blocked and everyone but one Bellevue player just stopped and he picked up the football and ran it for a touchdown.

I think the game is in Massachusetts and I think they play by college rules.

The kicking team was lucky their kicker didn't have a very strong leg. A few more yards and its an automatic dead ball.

While I feel bad for the kid, that had to be the most hilarious way to end a game I have ever seen. I just fell out of my seat. That's some Leon Lett type stuff.:lol:

I noticed that too. They showed several games and they were all like that. I don't know if they were all played in the same place or if that's just the way fields are in Vermont.
