Play to the final whistle, not the horn ending the game. Saw something similiar at a youth football game. Team desperately throwing the ball downfield had to score a TD to win, the opposing team picks the ball off, the horn blows, the kid who picked off the pass tried to hand it to the official, the official didn't take it so he sat it down next to him, the QB who threw the pick, ran down field and picked the ball up and ran it 40 yds to the one yard line and with defenders hanging all over him, looked back and pitched the ball back to a trailing teammate who dove across the goalline for the winning score. Guys, I saw it with my own 2 eyes - UNREAL.

That too was the first game I thought of but I also remembered another.

 

If memory serves in the Class A title game in '77 I think that Frankfort tried a FG and it was short. As the two sides began to just "let down" a Bellvue player picked up the ball and ran it either for a TD or a big gain to set up a TD.

 

Then again, maybe that was too long ago for me to remember correctly. :idunno:

Does the ball cross the plane of the end zone?? It is too hard to tell on the video. The news guys says, "caught in the end zone". I hope he was wrong in saying that?? If he is right and the ball did cross the goal line, it should have been a touchback....game over! I would hate to see a situation where the officials actually "gave the game away".

b. Which is a three-point field-goal attempt, in flight touches a K player in R’s

end zone, or after breaking the plane of R’s goal line is unsuccessful.

I watched the video many times to see if the ball crossed the goal line. Couldn't tell.
