I must say, I thought that those wearing the isolation masks from the Panthers fans was a bit of bad taste. I'm sure the Brossart fans felt bad enough.................

No offense taken. Just a bunch of high school kids spoofing our having them move their traditional Friday night homecoming game to a Monday as the result of our flu issues.

 

One of my all-time favorites was when the Silver Grove fans made signs back in the 2001 10th Region All "A" Tournament, after Bracken County repeatedly cancelled their game with the Trains due to bad weather - "We Didn't Know Polar Bears Were Afraid of Snow."

The best part was the response by the Brossart student section to the masks, chanting "We have H1....", classic!

Despite the sickness of the team, I really believe that this game shows that the rankings aren't always accurate. I think this was a classic case "overratedism".

 

I believe that Brossart will struggle the rest of the season, with the exception of Dayton, I really don't see them coming close to winning another game.

It is nice to see someone who is understanding of high school kids and their antics. I beleive it is just part of the tradition. The kids are the ones who set the mood for the crowd because they are doing what they should be doing......and that is having fun at the game.

It was one game and anything can happen. Just because Brossart had one bad game doesn't mean that the season is over and there are no winnable games left on the schedule. They will keep fighting and will get better. This is a tough week, but certainly not the end of their season. Ludlow still has tough games ahead as well and there is definitely room for improvement with them as well. Ludlow only outgained Brossart by 54yards. Big plays were the difference. Congrats to Ludlow on the win, but lets not act like you are going to the state championship just yet

I don't see where in this thread anyone has said this, and I certainly don't think anyone from Ludlow has gone to the paper saying they can do that. If I remember last years Enquirer correctly, how has Brossart faired against Newport, Ludlow, Dayton, Owen County...

Sour grapes? I mean seriously where has anyone on here said that, or even came close to even hinting that? I mean its a win, people do get happy after a win you know.

I'm sure it was. You have to overcome the adversity though. Good teams don't whine, or make excuses.

 

Didn't Brossart get to practice on the weekend? I really don't know, but I thought I heard that?

 

Also I mean if Brossart not getting to practice much was going to affect their play. Then it would have more in the first half, because they wouldn't have been as prepared. However Brossart came out and played a great first half, so I don't think people can use that as an excuse. I mean the second half of games people know what to expect, and adjustments are made. Both teams had the chance to make adjustments. So from the looks of it Ludlow's coaching staff made the better adjustments, and the team came out and just basically dominated the second half and took control of the game.

It was a game of momentmum. Those 2 big plays Ludlow had in the first half had Brossart reeling. Ludlow wanted it more in the 2nd half and laid the smack down. Congrats to the Ludlow kids for not quitting. Drew Rice is a beast!

Talk bad about the team all you want but you have to give the guys credit for going out there and giving it thier all to try and win a district game instead of just canceling it. Not practicing for a few weeks would hurt any team. I strongly believe if they didn't have to cancel last weeks game and miss all that practice time this would have been a different game. Not making excuses just my opinion.

The whole community of Ludlow is behind him, as you said he is a class act and is a great person for the job.

 

Things definitely don't get any easier for them. However they are definitely going in the right direction, and as I said before I wouldn't be surprised to see them maybe pull off a district win this year at some point.

 

You're absolutely right. Coach Hornsby is an absolutely great guy all around, and a great coach too. It was a real shame to see him leave Cov Cath, (where he still holds some football records from his high school years) and he is definitely missed. Ludlow got a great man to step in as football coach, and I really think he's doing a good job of getting the Panthers moving in the right direction. I sure hope the program keeps building under him. I'd love to see Ludlow get into real state contention!

Wow, missing two weeks of practice would devastate a team's performance in any game. Even missing one week would be almost insurmountable. HUGE kudos to Coach Reinhart and the Mustangs for putting up the points they did in the first half.
