Notre Dame is finding ways to win. They should set up for a 9-3 or 10-2 season. That will keep Charlie Weiss his job.

In a nutshell. The TO gave ND two tries to get in the end zone instead of one with seconds remaining in the game.

Claussen avoided two sacks on the final drive that would have changed the outcome of this game. Gutty, gutty performance. And my daughter was there rooting for her Irish. :dancingpa

The outcome would have been the same with or without the timeout. ND would have either spiked it or run a play and Claussen throws it away. The 3rd down play after the time out was an incomplete pass in the corner of the endzone. Either way, they run the same 4th down play that they ran to Rudolph and Irish score. If anything the timeout gave Purdue the ball with more time on the clock than they would have had. The timeout call is being way, way blown out of proportion.

If you watch the TD to Rudolf at the end, it was a classic post up move by a power forward calling for the ball down low. That GCL player of the year in basketball skills finally pays off for the Irish. :thumb:

He would have gotten a pass with best WR out, starting RB out and QB hurt. At some point, there will be no saving Charlie, but this game would not have sealed his fate. Heck, the Michigan game may have already done that.

I still see the Irish maybe making a BCS bowl if they only loose to USC but I like their odds with them even without Floyd.

Claussen is really looking like a high NFL pick. The zip on the ball is impressive.

 

I think Clausen could play his way into the 1st round this year. I think he would benefit from another year with Weis though. I think he might be the best dropback style passer in college, in terms of going on to the NFL.

I really like Clausen's game. But then again, me and BSpikes also think that "Cupcake Charlie" is a great offenisive mind as well.

I agree. Cats what do you think the Irish will be if Jimmy is back next year. I think he could really benefit from it as well.
