September 28, 200916 yr I agree. Cats what do you think the Irish will be if Jimmy is back next year. I think he could really benefit from it as well. I think if Clausen is back along with Golden Tate along with a healthy Michael Floyd they could be a title contender. The should also have Armondo Allen back and I think he's looked alot better this season. Really it comes down to how the line progresses next season, as they have 4 senior starters who through the years have turned into a pretty decent group. Given how bare the OL was when Weis got there I would say that he has tried to stock up. I think Willingham only brought in like a handful of scholarship linemen during his years there. I haven't really kept up with ND recruiting much, but given some of the players Weis has brought in I'd say the talent is stocking up. They will lose some key seniors on defense, but I think their defense will continue to improve. I think Weis has to stay. He really wasn't given much to work with other than a few players. I think that he can establish something good there if given the time. I think that he has shown this season that he does know what he's talking about offensively and game managment and things like that will continue to get better. As for Jimmy, I think he will probably be the Heisman frontrunner, and deservedly so. Unless Bradford would come back, which is unlikely.

Either way, I think like you said their defense will continue to get better. If the new starters on the line jell next year all that should stand between them and the BCS is Michigan and USC. September 29, 200916 yr Idont like all the talk about Charlie Weis and him on the hot seat. This year it is his recruits that are playing and now he is running the offense by himself, which he did at New England and won a Superbowl. And the Irish are putting up way better numbers than what they previously have in past years. I especially like them next year to maybe make the National Championship if Claussen stays. :ylsuper:
September 29, 200916 yr One of the worst time out calls in the history of college football... I didn't understand why a TO or was needed by ND right there either. They had plenty of time to run two plays with a spike or TO and the announcers were going nuts about them stopping the clock. They had nearly :35 seconds left. That's plenty of time to run two passing plays. Heck, you could run it once even. I agree Purdue calling it was even more stupid.

I have a feeling that they will beat Ohio State. I have all year. I don't think Michigan is better, I just think they will find a way to get it done this season. It won't get as ugly UK-UF, there isn't that steep of a talent gap between OSU-Michigan. OSU has a talent advantage though, no doubt. As for speed, I think that Michigan is about as fast as Ohio State, and this will be the last year that they aren't equal to or greater than OSU athletically. Rich Rod thinks that Robinson is faster than Devine, Slaton and Pat White, so most likely he finds a new position and will be a huge threat.
