When playing other SEC teams anything can happen. I think the majority of thsi board would agree OSU is overrated.

Laugh if you want. How many times have I stepped out on a ledge this season and have been wrong? Strictly college football though. I don't buy the hype on garbage teams like Ole Miss. Yes they are a good team, but were never a serious threat to win the title. Someone laughed win I said they'd lose at least 3 games, so do you see them beating Bama or LSU this season? I think they'll have a hard enough time with Arkansas and Auburn.

I wasn't a part of that thread, but every single guy I saw on TV picked Carolina. It wasn't a big ledge you were stepping out on.

I didn't necessarily pick Carolina. The thread I was talking about was just talking about Ole Miss. I said they didn't look good all season. I didn't really have a prediction for the game, I thought it would be close, I just said that Ole Miss would lose to some teams this season. A few thought that was preposterous, though obviously it wasn't.

 

There was really no ledge. Ole Miss isn't that good, and it was easy to see that they would get beat. My response originally was to those who tried to tell me Ole Miss was legit. Though South Carolina isn't a bad team, a legit title contender most likely finds away to beat them, especially considering that SC's offense left a lot of points on the board.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. The rest of the teams are about even IMO. I don't think you could even say UK looks that much worse than the rest of the socalled "Elite". I'm still waiting on LSU, they may end up being pretty good this season if things start clicking.

Yes, after the #1 and #3 team in the country there is a drop off. The SEC is the best conference, so I don't know how it could be overrated. Maybe there isn't as big a gap as some think? Tell me who is close to them though? The Big 12 has seen Oklahoma fall... the Pac-10 has seen USC & Oregon fall... those would have to be the next two conferences in line right?

I agree. Ole Miss is still pretty good... just not Top 5 or Top 10 good. That's why I never get too worked up about preseason rankings, it always works itself out.

I don't think that is what he was saying. He didn't say it wasn't the best, and neither am I. It's just not AS good as it's made out to be. Most teams have some big flaws, and UF and Bama shouldn't have that much of a problem winning their divisions again.

I guess my question is if the SEC is overrated... then which conference is closing the gap since the beginning of the season?

Is it possible that instead of 4th in the country Ole Miss is 4th in the SEC West?
