September 29, 200916 yr It's almost time for an ARod 1-24 streak. I can't wait. Yeah you let me know when that happens, sorry you are used to seeing that with alot of reds players, but usually does not happen with the Yankees.:sssh:
September 29, 200916 yr Exactly. The Yankees overspend and outbid for some free agents each year and pay the penalty (luxury tax) for doing so. It is the system in place. Teams in how they spent money and their rankings: NY (1), Boston (4), Detroit (5), LA Angels (6), Philly (7), LA Dodgers (9), Atlanta (11), St. Louis (13), Colorado (18), Minnesota (24). It is hard to say baseball has figured it out when 8 out of the 10 teams that have either clinched or the only ones left with a shot to make the playoffs are in the upper half of teams spending money. People can bash the Yankees for not winning titles, but the proof shows your odds are a lot better to win it all if you are willing to spend money. I heard on Mike & Mike the other morning that baseball has a superior track record than football this decade for "parity". I can remember the exact stats, but it was comparing how many different champions and playoff teams each league had had this decade and baseball, suprisingly to everyone, was higher. Go figure.

Parity is a good and bad thing. In football the teams are on a level playing field. Unfortunately, it cannot weed out bad management even though the same opportunities exist. In baseball, you can overcompensate for deficiencies on either the pay-scale end or management end. Teams like the Reds, Pirates, etc. have 0 shot because they possess neither.
September 29, 200916 yr Yeah you let me know when that happens, sorry you are used to seeing that with alot of reds players, but usually does not happen with the Yankees.:sssh: But it does with ARod when post-season play rolls around....:sssh:
September 29, 200916 yr There is no need to be upset at a team that is superior to yours. Just accept the fact that the Yankees are best in baseball. It will be ok, we will remember you when we lift the trophy.:dancingpa Just curious, when was the last time this actually was accurate?

September 29, 200916 yr What is funny is that if Albert Pujols is a Yankee then he would only be the 7th highest paid player on the payroll... That is a joke.:ohbrother: There may be even a bigger choke artist than A-Roid on the Yankees roster when it comes to the postseason. C.C. Sabathia holds a 7.92 career ERA in the postseason....:sssh::sssh:
September 29, 200916 yr If the Yankees are fortunate enough to play MY Cards in the W.S. then we will have one heck of a series. Albert Pujols in New York would be fun. It will also be a matchup of the two most World Series winningest teams in MLB (NYY-26 | SLC-10). Later.
September 30, 200916 yr Haven't Yankee fans been saying that since 2001? Well I am sorry that you have to battle just about every year in a weak division to make the play-offs. But atleast 15 out of the past 16 years we have been there so? Plus we play in a much better division.
September 30, 200916 yr Haven't Yankee fans been saying that since 2001? Well atleast we have had a WS title 3 times since your last one.:sssh:
