Should Cov Cath install lights?

Would have thought they would have put more seating.

There is seating for 2,500 in those photos. That beats what they had by several hundred. Don't forget...we didn't have the state's pocket to dip into when it comes to paying for the renovations.

One could argue with all the alumni you had bigger pockets.

You've got to be kidding me. You didn't have the states pockets to dip into?

$ In/Out of District (2016/17): In District Tuition / Tuition + Fees = $7,335 / $8,440. Out of District Tuition / Tuition + Fees = $8,060 / $9,165. Relative Tuition.

Yes, one could try to make that argument. One wouldn't win that argument though.

Think about it...we didn't even have a football field for the first 13 years that we had a football program. It took another 37 years to actually get lights on that field. Capital fundraising like that is incredibly difficult. It can go hot and cold, and sometimes even arctic. We originally thought we were on track to have the lights installed four seasons ago...but you can see how that went.

Are you really under the impression that you can tell someone who is paying $7,000+ a year for their kid's high school education that, "Hey, we're going to need you to chip in an extra few hundred thousand so we can add some extra seats to our football stadium"?

New Cath and Holy Cross are both Catholic schools in NKY with football teams. If Catholic school alumni have bigger pockets, then why are the Breds and Indians playing all of their home games at other schools' stadiums?

No, we don't have the state's pockets to dip into...Covington Catholic's campus improvements are not funded by the state. I always thought it was pretty well known that Catholic schools are not publicly funded.

What was the point you were trying to make with the tuition and fees?

Yes, it is. But first off, not all college parents are paying for tuition. Secondly, you can take out a loan to pay for colleges. Third, how many colleges are there out there the size of Covington Catholic (less than 600 students) that are looking to build athletic stadiums?

You can't get loans for tuition at Cov Cath? You sure about that?

Lindsey Wilson is probably the closest comparison you can get, 2100 students (so triple the enrolment.)

If you wanted to go to the bank and take out a private loan for it you could, just like anything else you want to take out a loan on. You can't get FAFSA, KEES, or anything similar though.

Your argument isn't holding water...at all.

Tell me, what's your personal experience with Catholic school funding, budgeting, fundraising, and donating?

And don't forget when you look at the Tuition bill at CovCath you aren't looking at what that family is also paying for little Brother who is attending a Catholic Grade School and a Sister who is attending NDA. It starts adding up pretty quickly, but a lot do it and sacrifice a lot to get a Catholic Education for their children, oh and please don't forget, they still are paying their taxes to the Public Schools.

Grandmother drug me to every stinking fundraiser and event she could at Roger Bacon had as a kid. There was no discussion I was going to RB for High School. (So I get what you are trying to imply.)

Grandmother passed away early in my 8th grade year, to redneck university I went for High School.

Yep. one each CCH NDA and a grade school is about 20000.

Sound system is up and running!

That Improvement was needed even more than the lights. The old sound system may have been the worst in any football stadium I have been in. Good news!!

It's not the worst I've heard, but still it was pretty darn awful.
