Colts 27 Dolphins 23

That was one of the more amazing games I had ever watched. Didn't they say that was the first time ever a team had won a game holding on to the ball as little as Indianapolis did?

Yep, no team has ever held on to the ball for 15 minutes and won a game.

I missed it. The only bad call I can think of was the run on 3rd down that set up the go-ahead FG. Other than that, I thought Miami executed their game plan to perfection, only to lose because the Colts have Peyton Manning.

Did you see the end of the first half? Why call a TO right away on 3rd and 8 w/ :45 left when you're already in FG range? Did you see how they "executed" the offense w/ 3 minutes left needing a TD? 1st down w/ 3:00 left a running play, followed by a huddle, then burning a TO 1 second before getting a delay of game called. Then another running play followed by the 2 minute warning. They needed to go 85 yards. I agree that he should be fired today.

What bad calls did he make? Any other team would love to do what Miami did last night. They had the football for 45 minutes of the game. That is their gameplan. They aren't a flashy team who quick scores. There were only 1 or 2 questionable calls at most. The one I can think of is there towards the end of the game when they settled for running the ball on 3rd and 6 just to get a better shot at a FG. In that instance they should have at least tried for the 1st down to get a TD but oh well. You might want to go back and watch the game again.

You might want to. How anyone can justify what they did w/ 3 minutes left is insane? They neede 85 yards and handed it off, huddled, called a TO, ran it again, and went to the 2 minute warning.

Pretty sure they were in good position when the game ended last night. Being on the Colts 30 wasn't bad field position and I'm sure they were pleased with the chance they had. Yes it could have been better, but who's to say that if they were to have hurried the offense up that they wouldn't have had a interception or something of that nature?

Had Miami scored a TD on that pass to Ginn then no one would be saying they should have moved the ball quicker, everyone would be saying that's their game, a slow paced offense that milks the clock.

Of course it's easy to judge when the play doesn't work but they did what they wanted too and it almost paid off.

For those calling for a "firing" or disparging the Dolphins' leadership and game, this is a lifelong Dolphins fan that is not happy with losing a game we could have/should have won - but come on! :taz::irked:

This Dolphins team is still rebuilding and this leadership is doing it.

These Fins were 1-15 just 2 years ago!!!

Now they've been to the playoffs, won the division and though they are 0-2 right now the next few years will be in better shape IMO.

No way, no how should anyone want Soprano and Company gone. At least not a Dolphins Fan. :ylsuper:

He called a timeout at the end of the first half which left time on the clock to allow a game-tying FG. He was driving at will against a tired defense in the 4th quarter. On a 3rd and 6, he ran a draw play straight up the middle - settling for a FG with 3:30 remaining on the clock. He should've gone for the win instead of playing not to lose.

Yeah I was referring to the deep ball he threw there. Chad Pennington also = arm of a sick ten year old boy.

Easy now. I was just throwing that out there. You know good and well I'm aware that Chad Pennington is known as Noodle Arm in some parts of America.

I wasn't sure he'd be able to get the hail mary to the end zone at the end of the game...30-40 yards is pushing it. :D

The last drive by Miami was very poorly managed IMO... They should've won this game.

I saw Chad Pennington drive them into scoring position and make a perfect throw that should have given them the lead, but Ted Ginn, Jr. couldn't make the play. Criticize their late game offense all you want, but it put them in a position to take the lead back if Ted Ginn does what he's paid to do.

First time since TOP has been clocked that a team won while having the ball for under 15 minutes...watching Peyton make audibles at the line is awesome.

When you're in "re-building" mode with a team that isn't explosive and doesn't have a large margin for error, losses like this happen sometimes when you face a team like Indianapolis lead by a QB of Manning's ability.

I don't understand why somebody has to be blamed for every loss. If you want to blame anyone, it sure isn't Sparano. How about Ginn for dropping the game winner? Or some of those defenders for their poor tackling on some of the Colts big plays?

Again, the only play I questioned at the time was the run on third down to set up the FG that put Miami ahead 23-20. However, as well as they'd been running the ball, and as tired as Indy's defense was, I don't think that play call was as bad as it seemed initially.

He called a timeout at the end of the first half which left time on the clock to allow a game-tying FG. He was driving at will against a tired defense in the 4th quarter. After looking back on it I think the Dolphins made the right decision on 3rd and 6. Miami had 14 rushing 1st downs, and were 15-21 on 3rd down. They had over 230+ yards rushing on the Colts. They weren't able to stop the Dolphins and as you already said, the Colts defense was tired, so why not pound it down their throat? Why take a chance on a more rested secondary?

Like I said, no reason to "fire" the coach over some perceived bad play calling. Had Ginn made either of those 2 catches and we'd not be having this conversation. If you want to call out anyone then call out Ginn, not the coach.

Hey, it's a privilege, not a right to play for the Miami Dolphins.

The last drive by Miami was very poorly managed IMO... They should've won this game.

If Ted Ginn catches that ball like he should have, Miami would have won the game. If you want to blame anybody, blame him.
