I saw Chad Pennington drive them into scoring position and make a perfect throw that should have given them the lead, but Ted Ginn, Jr. couldn't make the play. Criticize their late game offense all you want, but it put them in a position to take the lead back if Ted Ginn does what he's paid to do.

 

You can't be serious. Ginn had to make a tough catch and he was held a little so maybe there could have been a flag. But if you're ok w/ a team needing to go 85 yards in 3 minutes and running for 3 yards on 1st down, huddling, calling a TO b/c they were about to get a delay of game call, running for 3 yards again and letting it go to the 2 minute warning all while gaining 6 yards we don't watch the same sport. It really is that simple. That was the worst late gime drive I've ever seen. Maybe, just maybe they would have had more time to score from the 30 if they would have managed the clock better before the 2 minute warning. I can't even believe anyone could possibly stick up for their coach today.

Pretty sure they were in good position when the game ended last night. Being on the Colts 30 wasn't bad field position and I'm sure they were pleased with the chance they had. Yes it could have been better, but who's to say that if they were to have hurried the offense up that they wouldn't have had a interception or something of that nature?

 

Had Miami scored a TD on that pass to Ginn then no one would be saying they should have moved the ball quicker, everyone would be saying that's their game, a slow paced offense that milks the clock.

 

Of course it's easy to judge when the play doesn't work but they did what they wanted too and it almost paid off.

For those calling for a "firing" or disparging the Dolphins' leadership and game, this is a lifelong Dolphins fan that is not happy with losing a game we could have/should have won - but come on! :taz::irked:

Now they've been to the playoffs, won the division and though they are 0-2 right now the next few years will be in better shape IMO.

This is the NFL when you win your division and have most of the key parts coming back excuse me for not thinking you're "rebuilding". It was terrible game and clock management from the coaching staff at the end of both halves. There is no excuse for it.

Theodore Ginn Jr. should have caught that ball. Not catching balls like that, is why he'll never be remembered.

If Ted Ginn catches that ball like he should have, Miami would have won the game. If you want to blame anybody, blame him.

 

I'm not placing blame... Just making an observation. I don't like either team, and had no rooting interest at all... I tuned in to see a good football game. What I saw down the stretch was poor play calling, including runs up the middle with minimal time left on the clock.

 

Had Ted Ginn caught that ball (which I agree was VERY catchable), he would've bailed them out.

Could have caught it, but he was bumped and held a little. It was a catch he probably should have made. It doesn't excuse the fact that they should have had more time on the clock than they did.

The throw to Ginn wasn't from the 30. They ran a play to the 30 after the throw to Ginn. There's a time and a place for a team to try to run an offense faster than a "slow down" offense. I'd say needing 85 yards w/ a little over 3:00 minutes is a good time. If you as a team can't run a "faster offense" then you don't deserve a job. It's pretty simple. I think I might be right b/c they lost when they ran out of time. Do you even know the sequence I'm talking about? The first two plays of the drive and the huddle while burning a TO after the huddle is laughable. I think high school teams wouldn't do that.

Sunday night was Exhibit A. Last night was Exhibit B.

 

It's a QB league. Just like the Giants got beat physically by the Cowboys, the Colts got it worse. 200+ rushing yards and a TOP of over 45 minutes for Miami. Are you kidding me? Going into the game, what would you say? Run the ball, control the clock, keep Peyton off the field and we win. Nope. That's the benefit of having a great QB. You always have a chance.

 

Incredible that Manning can sit on the sideline for that long and still be razor sharp.

 

Ted Ginn, Jr. has to make that catch at the end of the game. Pennington made a beautiful throw and Ginn couldn't get it done on the other end. Otherwise, Miami wins this game. That's what distinguishes the men from the boys, as they say. Ginn had some nice numbers, but ultimately, he dropped a very catchable pass to win the game.

 

 

End of discussion. He makes that catch they win. Well 95% chance since anything could happen, but Ill take my chances. I am not a Dolphins fan but I can't stand Peyton Manning.
