It takes a lot of integrity away from the show when people are to be judged by someone with no background or expertise in the subject. At least Paula had some training in music. Hold on. Let me get this straight. Are you saying AI's #1 goal is ratings? Shocking. Where's The Captain? Seriously, these judges have no effect , thus, their musical background is 100% irrelevant. Fans vote for who they like. They could care less what Simon says. You see it every year. I love the choice.

I love the choice. :thumb: I would love to see them do away with judges altogether. Whenever I dvr the show, I fast forward through the annoying judges' comments anyway. If there must be judges though, I agree that Ellen is as good a choice as any.
September 11, 200917 yr I think she is a terrible choice. What kind of music back ground does she have? How can she be expected to critique people's music when she'll have no idea what she is talking about. She might be good for a few laughs at the very beginning of the show, but I don't see what she brings to the table when it gets serious. :thumb: I agree, Ellen is imo a lousy choice, the woman is a joke! I feel for any serious/talented contestant to have judge in front of them with absolutey no music talent or background to know what the heck she is talking about. After that, they should vote her (Ellen) off.
