I would like to know how in the world can Carter start for Greenup??????? It just isn't fair. I can't wait to see how Jeremy Barr does. I hope he comes out and plays with all of his heart and I also hope the rest of the team step it up. I know that they are sick of hearing about last years team just like I am. Step it up Rams or else you will lose to Greenup County and it has been a few years since we lost to them.

Did Jett play in the last game for Raceland?

I'm 90% sure he did not play.

 

Is Barr for sure playing? Because I don't look for him to play this week. But I've been wrong before and would love to be wrong in this case. If he did play how conditioned will he be? Bieng a leg injury would hold him back from continuing to be conditioned I would think.

I like Ram's straightforward and honest answers to the many questions posed by Coupon21. I think I'll wait until later in the week to make a prediction on this one, though, since Barr and Carter are likely to be such gamechanging players.

 

I know many of you are close with the Raceland program and know exactly what is going on, but let me throw in my outsider's perspective just for discussion:

 

1) Raceland lost what was obviously a very special senior class last year in both physical skills and leadership qualities. Those types of players are not easily replaced. Expectations seemed to remain the same, though.

 

2) Raceland has several transfers on the team this year. It could be possible that it is difficult to integrate guys who are coming in with guys who have been there for a while.

 

3) Raceland increased the difficulty of their schedule this year. They've played Boyd County (which is a much larger school), Ashland (which is the best in our area), and Fleming County (which apparently is a pretty good 3A team). They also played these first 3 games away from home.

 

4) Raceland then lost several of the key players they were counting on to injuries for the first few games. They either didn't play or were limited in action.

 

So they've had a lot going against them so far this season. Maybe they can get it together over the next few weeks going into their district games. These first few games are really meaningless except for some bragging rights anyway. I don't know. I just figured I'd throw some alternative reasons for their slow start out there other than the lack of motivation cited by a few.

 

You have made some very good points ryan. All are very legit, my concerns for this team goes back to the "do they really want to play" factor mentioned earlier. From what all I gather this team doesn't want to do the things it takes to do to play "Ram Football". Seems like they want to "talk the talk" but not "walk the walk" :irked:.

I hope that is not the case and as I said in my earlier post, only the players themselves can honestly answer that question, imo some looking at ones self and a very important "Gut Check" is needed.

As for another stating for it is time for Raceland fans to stay behind this team. I can speak for myself and say that this old Rambler is going no where. I will soon be 52 years old (on the GCHS game day) and have stuck with Raceland teams, good and bad for all of those years now and that will not change. I believe that is true for any "real" Raceland fan, we have no room for bandwagon jumpers. Myself along with a couple of others on this site are sometimes brutally honest about the way we see things. That is just telling it like we see it, not leaving. :thumb:

According to Greenup players, the score has been predicted to be 35-12. (That is Greenup with 35). I guess confidence is high in Lloyd. If Raceland is not playing with heart and emotion, they could be right.

I hope he decides to keep playing,he is a talented player and a good kid. I was really impressed with Risters toughness in the loss to Fleming Co. He took some good shots and always got up quickly ready to play. I hope Blankenship learns that toughness from him and in a few years may be ready to play.

I wouldnt say worried. When there are potential game changing players that could or could not be playing, questions will always be asked. That goes for both Raceland and Greenup this week. Carter, Barr, and Farley all have the ability to change the outcome of this game drastically.

hey there Ram Fan04, guess we are both hoping for a big win Friday against GC. We should have beat Fleming Co and if not for the fumble should have lost to Boyd Co. I think the Rams will be focused, motivated and beat GC handily. We really need this game, a loss Friday could really emotionally hurt this team.

For you to say "it just isnt fair" tells me you have no clue of the situiation. A kid should not be kept from playing football because of something he had no control over. Does anyone really want to keep a foster child from playing his senior year and having no chance of a scholarship? Without saying too much, people need to understand this is alot more than GC just getting a good football player, it is all about what was best for Rashard and his future. I really hope nobody brings this up again.

Very true, from what I have heard it is much more than Greenup just getting a star player. I hate to see somethng like that mess up his senior year. He is a very good athlete. I hope the best for him.

I do hope the best for Carter, BUT if it was him coming to Raceland you would be the first one on here saying it isn't fair. I do know of what happened. I don't care what school he is at, he brought this on himself. I do wish the best for him. I also wish Greenup County good luck on Friday night and I hope that noone gets hurt.
