Corbin 31 Danville 14

How will the Jumpers match up with the Ads next week?

If the Jumpers clean up their problems they had on special teams this week and contain the Danville quarterback they should match up pretty well with the Admirals. I'm sure Danville will come to play next week.

Corbin is a VERY VERY fast team that will hit you hard. I knew they had speed and while a little undersized on the line, they are stout. I didn't think the Hounds would be this physical. I was looking at the program and Corbin has some HUGE size in the younger ranks. 267, 290, 360, 260, 270, and that 6'4" 330 pound 8th grader coming up.

That's a big kid!

SHS, yes he is a monster.

Also, I was impressed with Corbin's D. Danville was forced to pass more than what I think is the usual. Corbin's interior was shutting down the Ad's run game. Danville had a few nice runs when they could get to the edge or QB would scramble but great D by the Big Red.

I believe our boys earned the right to carry the "C" on the helmets this week.

Caleb Watkins really took it to Danville in the 4th Quarter. What a gutsy performance playing both ways. Certainly led by example last night.

I'd also like to give props to Mr. Roman Mitchell. He played perfectly at QB for the Redhounds last night. He did a great job leading the offense, and was very effective when callled on to throw the ball.

To the young men in the trenches- way to step up!!!

It was nice to see Ryan Fritts get a few carries last night. Hopefully he will slowly progress back into to the RB we know he is!

For Danville, the sky is the limit for them once they work out a few little kinks. They are a nice looking team with a bright future.

Congrats Hounds!!!

They HOUNDS looked very impressive tonight.Great job by the coachs to have them ready like they did.The backs ran very hard tonight.Roman was on his game great job.The 0-line and d-line my hat is off to u guys. Once again we were smaller on the lines but the players are strong and quick that is making up for the size.

Jimmy Hendirckson I hope I spelled your name right.Great job on the feild looked great I remember what it looked like after the grid a few weeks back it was tore up.You had it looking great.

The HOUNDS should have there C this Friday. You guys have earn them.

I know Corbin was much the better team. I just could never figure out what Danville was trying to get accomplished on offense.

Danville's offense was out of sync and very predictable...they need a passing package beyond bootleg when they line up in single wing...or maybe a counter...they go tackle over with backs stacked and they are going that way...I don't think that formation got any positive yards except when they cut it back to the weak side due to Corbin's contain. Roman did a good job for the Hounds and the offense was adequate, no broken records, but very solid. They did just what they wanted to, control the ball, work the clock, and make no/few mistakes. Besides a few procedure penalties Corbin was pretty disciplined out there. Watkins is a solid player. I was most impressed with Corbin's defense. Coach Jewell did a great job having them ready. Danville only drove the ball once on the defense and only scored 6 points. The other 8 came on a big play, not a long drive.

Corbin's defense played well, flew to the ball and gang tackled. They did have a couple of big mistakes defensively, the backup CB let the receiver get behind him for the 80 yd TD when the QB scrambled and another CB didn't turn and look for the ball, which led to a pass interference call. If that is all the untrained eye can pick up in a game versus Danville, then they must have been well prepared and carried out their assignments.

The blocking up front for Corbin was pretty good and the backs(though Foley blocked really good last night)blocked well for each other. Good to see Fritts get some carries, running and blocking hard, will need him as the season progresses. Watkins obviously played well(not sure how many yds he gained, over 200 I'm sure), but so did Taylor who is very difficult to bring down.

Congratulations to the Redhounds, the ADS are down this year, so don't hang your hat on this win. Your field is in awesome codition. Good job..

That was kinda my feeling as well Rebel88. Danville will no doubt improve and be a tough out for some team come playoff time. Corbin has alot of room for improvement. Once Fritts gets back to 100 percent the Hounds will have a tough offense to defend. If the defense continues to play solid and make a few plays the Hounds could make a deep run this season. I honestly do not see many tough tests for this team til they get to LCA the last game of the year. GRC away could be a tough game as well. Their district appears to be weaker than usual with Middlesboro down this season. North and South Laurel are two games the Hounds should win as well. Knott and Leslie will be games to throw the ball around a bit to Hoover and Manns. Other than injuries, I look for this team to have a chance to win all their games until LCA.

It sounds like the Hounds played a little better this week. It's good to see Fritts back.

Wow! Maybe I am behind on times, but I didn't see this one coming. Was Corbin that heavily favored?

Danville does not have the super athletes they have had in the past. They may struggle this year.

Its great to have size, but do they have any speed coming up like Watkins and Fritz?
