Going to the post office now to send it off...

Did you contact Microsoft? They should have told you to keep your hard drive.

I did.

We followed the same steps above when it happened with ours. Smooth easy process and they returned it very quickly.

Same thing happened here in May. Got it back in about a week or maybe two. Cost nothing but shipping.

Best buy exchanged mine the only time it happened to me.

HoopBoy is right, PS3 is the only way to go....And I have a 360

PS3's are OK...but I couldn't take one over my Xbox 360.

If you haven't sent it in already, try this method HT told me....

Take the hard drive off the Xbox and then try to turn it on. If it comes on without the red ring, turn it back off, put the hard drive back on, and turn on the console. I did this to mine and for some reason it worked. Don't know why, don't know how, but it's worth giving it a shot before you send it off.

:ylsuper: Magic. :D

I haven't had the RROD on mine yet. I did have to send one off though already, due to another problem. It was saying that every disc I had was "dirty or damaged" and couldn't be played. It was right after I bought a new NCAA football game too, so I was mad.

They sent me a refurbished one and it has worked well since.

A lot of times the refurb ones end up better than the brand new ones.

Not from what I've heard from my friends and other people.

O we got another. We have had about 60 threads on this. I will say this has happened to me 3 times. I think I do play a little to much. Anyway call 18004myxbox.. They will help you from there.

The hard drive could be the problem a friend of mine kept having them break on his finally he sent the hard drive back with it and they informed him his hard drive was corrupt and that was causing the problem.
