I have the first season at my house to watch...but for some reason can't seem to talk myself into starting it. So let's hear it, why should I watch this show?

 

The Sons of Anarchy is one of those shows that has a back story to where there are currently at, but that back story has yet to be fully exposed. The President of the group(Ron Perlman of Hellboy) is in a relationship with the founder's widow(Katey Sagal from married with Children). The founder and the widow had a son named Jax who is the Vice President of the group. The son found a journal from his father, the founder, that explains how the SAMCRO lost its ways. The son, the main character, is now torn between his deceased father's words and President's ways of running SAMCRO, but it's a lot more subtle than how I described it. Great acting, great storyline, great production, great show. You won't be disappointed. I haven't met a person who has watched it who came away disappointed. You also don't have to be a motorcycle junkie or even like motorcycles to appreciate the show either. It's a great show about human nature involving violent guys on motorcycles.

I think this show is way better than the Shield. But it's all a matter of opinion anyways.

It is not even close to The Shield's early seasons. The Shield's last two seasons were not that great IMO, but seasons 1-5 were the best television I've ever seen. The final episode of season 5 was unbelievable.

No, I want to but I don't have the money to buy it right now.

 

I plan on buying the entire series without ever having seen an episode :lol:.

 

And I can almost guarantee The Wire won't top The Shield for me. It might be outstanding...but nothing beats The Shield. I love a lot of shows...but I never once saw a bad episode of The Shield (seasons 1-5). Seasons 6 and 7 were good, but they weren't as good as the first 5.

I haven't seen the entire series but I have seen an episode or two. Like halfback20, I plan on watching the whole series at some point, but I am likely to just download and put it on my ipod at some point.

 

I'll likely do the same thing with The Shield and see if I like it as much as halfback20. It'll have to be a spectacular show for it to top SOA, but I'll find out.

The Shield is easily better than SOA, and SOA is really good. Vic Mackey is my favorite television character of all time.

Me too. I am getting ready to finish off season 1 for the 3rd time. If The Shield is a better show than this, I look forward to downloading and beginning the series of The Shield. I can't wait until Tuesday night, 10pm.

I'm watching the last two episodes of Season 1 right now on DVR. Got it set for Tuesday's show as well. I'm psyched! I can't believe it's been nearly a year!
