I don't believe that everyone played for Dixie, but most did. In the 3rd, they put in the 2nd string offense, except the line remained the starters. In the 4th, they went all JV on offense. Defensively, the 2nd string defensive backfield entered in the late 3rd, or early 4th, with the starting d-line. The line was eventually pulled for all JV players too.

I heard from someone whose football knowledge I fully respect. He said this outcome was more of a commentary on BW than how well Dixie played.

After watching the tape, I think I would agree with that. I still think Dixie is very good but Beechwood played one of the worst games I have seen out of them in a long time and it wasn't because of Dixie. Just poor execution. Chalk a lot of it up to inexperience, which should be fixable.

Hey, I have praised Dixie all I can on here and I did so even in the post you replied to. I'm not sure Dixie is as good as I thought when I left the stadium on Saturday but they are very good. But Beechwood did not play well at all and I think they will play better going forward.

Very true. Walking out of Nippert after that beat down I thought Dixie was ready for Highlands and Bellevue was going to win the 1A district. I don't think I am ready to go there on either those after seeing the tape.:idunno:

You could be right. I still think defensively Dixie needs a lot of improvement. As far as playing with Highlands, I think they might for 2-3 quarters. Dixie must be prepared to go four full, keep their heads, keep silly penalties at a minimum and be ready for anything. If they do not, I believe it will get ugly in a hurry. Of course you can say that about any game for any team.
