QB Contoversy in Philadelphia

Featured Replies

Well, that didn't take long...

I was listening to an Eagle's guy talking on Mike & Mike this morning and he said there is already a QB controversy in Philly. Vick was supposed to play 15 or so plays last night, but McNabb was seen on the sidelines giving a "throat slash" to the offensive coordinator. Vick was then pulled from the game. McNabb spent the postgame talking about how the Eagles had no rhythm, etc. This will be interesting to keep an eye on...

Are they any other witnesses to this other than this one guy? I can't find anything online about it.

When 3 of your 4 passes were completed behind the LOS you've not proven anything other than a propensity to be accurate from 5 yards.

All in baby steps.

All in baby steps.

Exactly. Lets keep this in mind before we declare him "ready" for NFL football. When you were only "average" your last time out and that was 2 years ago expectations cannot be very high.

More than just stats.

Vick didn't look like he had been out of the league for 2 years. Most QB's could not come back and pick up on the pace of the game that quick. He adjusted well against the starters. Expect better stats in the next game.

It was mentioned by Herm Edwards that it was obvious his legs were nowhere close to being under him and you could tell he had been off for some time. I would say Vick probably did as about as well as any QB could have done given the circumstances.

OK. I saw the highlights. It appeared to me that McNabb was telling the OC to end this circus.

The general consensus is that the 3rd preseason game is THE preseason game. You can't have your starting O getting out of rhythm to "tinker" with your backup qb. If you believe that this is the final test for the regular season you don't keep bringing in the backup qb.

I hope this blows up and the Eagles fall apart.

I hate Vick, but I can't stand McNabb either. He acts like a complete jerk when he's winning...and whines when he's losing. Didn't he get benched last year at one point?

I hope Vick takes his job, then plays awful. That would be ideal...

... I would guarantee that all is not well in the lockerroom.
On what basis? You have some inside knowledge of this?

We already knew what you thought

Thank you for your opinion on my opinion, and not the topic.

I've always kind of liked McNabb for whatever reason. He doesn't get the respect he deserves from his own fans.

I'm with mexitucky. The only was there will be a problem is if he gets hurt then Vick leads them to a couple of wins.

I think this is the perfect time for this picture.

The guy on Mike & Mike is as close to the Eagles as anyone. He says there are major problems already, so I'll take his word for it. By the way, it was very obvious if you watched the game that things went south really fast.

I'm a big Eagles hater, but most of that just looks like speculation. However if there's trouble in that locker room we'll know about it soon enough.

I agree. It'll be something to at least keep an eye on.
