footballfever Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Heard he resigned Monday. Anyone have details?
MountainThunder Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 This would be a shocker, especially, with the season ready to kick off shortly.
Commander 25 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Wow that would be a shocker especially this time of year.
gchs_uk9 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Not a great deal of detail, but here's a link to the Commonwealth-Journal article out of Somerset. Maybe there will be more in today's paper. http://www.somerset-kentucky.com/localsports/local_story_222212048.html
Colonel Nation Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 So who would step in and coach the jumpers this year? I would like to see Max Messomore step up and guide the jumpers this year, he has coached all them boys in the past and has done a darn good job.:ylsuper:
Commander 25 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 It will be hard on the Briar Jumpers this season.
CoachBuckett Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 It will be hard on the Briar Jumpers this season. I don't think so. As long as the have some good assistants and promote with in I believe they will be just fine. Frankfort had their head coach leave on the first day of school 7 years ago. That year they finished 11-2. Foley was promoted to head coach and he was able to rally the kids. So I wish the same for the Briar Jumpers.
DADDY CAT Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Wow! I had forgotten about him quitting and returning really quick 2 years ago. Any chance that he took another job this close to the season starting?
MSU-70 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Wow....I hope nothing is wrong. Hope the best to the jumpers in this situation.
AverageJoesGym Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Wow! I had forgotten about him quitting and returning really quick 2 years ago. Any chance that he took another job this close to the season starting? I don't really want to discuss the situation any further but it has nothing to do with taking another job.
Commander 25 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Wow....I hope nothing is wrong. Hope the best to the jumpers in this situation. Me too. I wish him the best and also the Briar Jumpers.
DADDY CAT Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I don't really want to discuss the situation any further but it has nothing to do with taking another job. Thanks for the follow up. I really do hope this is nothing serious, just a decision to try something new. Lynn Camp had some great battles with Cobb. Here is to the best for both Cobb and Somerset!:thumb:
SARR Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I hope it is nothing related to Health. I know back in the spring there some rumblings that Jay was not happy with the support he was getting?
cammando Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Cobb's pulled this stunt several times... I'm sure he will get what he wants from the administration and be back on the side lines for the first game...
