Reds Trade Weather to Brewers for PTBN...

Featured Replies

I would be absolutely shocked & thrilled if JJ Hardy was the player we got in return for David Weathers.

I'd imagine the player will be a mid to upper level prospect.

I, like many, was easily frustrated with Weathers. But the fact remains that he's a quality reliever & a true professional, both on & off the field. I hate to see a guy go who truly wanted to be here, but it's a business.

Regardless of who we get in exchange, I think this trade will improve the Reds' future. I think it also shows the confidence that the organization has in Nick Masset & (gulp) Jared Burton.

The Brewers do have the top minor league SS prospect but I agree not sure if its a fair trade for just Weathers although Hardy is a hacker.

Hardy has really struggled this year, but I don't think he'll be the PTBNL.

Hardy's numbers:

This year: .227 with 11 HR.

2008: .283 with 24 HR & 74 RBI

2007: .277 with 26 HR & 80 RBI

:thumb: Very much so. He met with my grandfather, before he passed, this past Summer just to throw BP with him.

I knew there was a reason you thought so highly of him! Had nothing to do with his performance on the field afterall.

Good riddance, nice guy but lousy setup man! This organization has to improve and it starts here.

It is likely to be a player not on the 40 man roster already. I don't think it will be Hardy.

There is no way the Brewers trade J.J. Hardy for David Weathers ...

Wow is all I can say. :ohbrother:

I love JJ Hardy I just don't see it happening. His numbers don't show it but he's a solid player. Defensively sound and a hacker, like stated before. I think he'd hit a little better at GABP, but no excuse for a .211 average.

Looks like the Rangers are interested in Bronson. I'd love to see some Ian Kinsler with Phillips moving to SS action.

Lance talked about the baseball IQ in this town recently, I think he may be on to something.

Lance also said he was really excited about this team in the spring and saw some strengths in the lineup. That is when I quit listening to him and he lost credibility with me.

I can't stand him most of the time but he has to talk about something on his show.

Yeah, I understand that. But don't treat me like I am dumb and say that this lineup is something to be excited about.

In the spring, Pitching yes, but offensively, give me a break.
