July 15, 200917 yr Anyone taking advantage of the government funded Clunker program. Friend of mine is getting 4500 bucks for a 20 year old beater pickup, that aint worth 500. Seems like a pretty sweet deal.

July 23, 200917 yr For those that are wondering why their cars aren't qualifying, keep in mind that the point of the program is to get the old gas hogs off the road. Compact cars and some midsize sedans aren't gas hogs, though they may not compare to their counterparts today.

Well, because of reading this this morning, we contacted a dealer and we got 9500.00 off, with a 87 truck(didn't think it was going to make it to the dealer) and we get a 2009 Jeep Patriot for less than 9000.00.
