After reading Wireman's thread about the fake John Wall, and his interview with him last night, I can't help but think that Wireman is truly the one that set up the fake twitter account. What do the rest of you think?

Sorry, Wireman. I have to agree with LRCW on this one. I have to admit that is was a great interview!:D

I don't know Wireman that well and I like Wireman, but I look forward to watching this thread grow.

Great stuff.

I vote Yes.....Wireman could have absolutely pulled that one off....and probably did.

Wireman is nuts.

But Wireman aint that nuts. :D

I'm a true character, but I have calmed down since I started doing my own site. I'm trying to slip on over to maturity

For the record, I do believe I could've pulled this off and I'm happy to see that LRCW respects my abilities so much, but, there is another guy out there and the interview is real :thumb:

Thanks (I think )

I was just going to say I agree with bugatti.

Interesting observation - the people that know me in real life or know someone that knows me in real life (for the most part) all voted that I'm not that crazy. The people that know me on here and not in real life, all voted that they can definitely see me doing that.

I guess I really have came off in a bad way online and for anyone that I've offended over the years - I truly am sorry. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately and if I feel that I've offended you, you'll likely be receiving a PM apology from me. I was kind of going to keep this a secret, but if someone is facing a similar struggle, I hope my story can show them a path to happiness.

You see, a few months ago I finally admitted to myself that something wasn't right with me and I agreed with my wife that I should see a doctor. I have been in denial for a long time and it has caused me countless problems in my marriage and in my life in general. To my surprise (but not really surprising if that makes sense), I was diagnosed with a very severe case of obsession - the "O" part of OCD. In other words, I would get something on my mind and literally not be able to get it out of my mind. For the last year, it has grown increasingly worse as the stress in my life as increased. During that last year, I was at the point of sleeping about 3-4 hours a night because I would lay in the bed and worry about things that I couldn't forget. It ranged from being as simple as getting upset over a basketball game to as complex as coming up with bizarre scenarios to implicate loved ones of trying to figure out ways to do me wrong. After visiting the doctor, he said that it was one of the most extreme cases he has dealt with in 20 years. I explained some of the scenarios I had dreamed up and what not and he was basically speechless. So, he gave me medication to help level my imbalances out and just recently I have finally became "normal." My life is peaceful now and I can deal with stress and the problems that life gives me. I am able to think clearly, without obsessing. I am doing a great job at work, I am able to relax by running my basketball site, we have bought a new house and are moving and I have finally became the man that I used to be. I owe a great thanks to God for helping me get things back on track. I owe a great apology to many, including many of you on here.

The real Wireman is actually one of the nicer guys you'd ever meet, but the online Wireman has been a jerk at times. And, before anyone thinks that I'm being sarcastic or poking fun, I'm being 100% serious. I've finally became man enough to admit that I have been wrong and I'll eat my crow for it. The old, online Wireman is retiring, however and the real Wireman will be coming out of the closet from now on.

Wireman, I'm glad that you realized you had a problem, and have taken care of that problem, but I never saw you any different than anybody else on here. We call get a little carried away on here from time to time with stuff, especially when it comes to UK sports, or Reds baseball for me, but I don't think anyone has every doubted that you're a good person. I certainly didn't start this thread to offend you, and if it did, I apologize. I was just having some fun because I know how big of a UK basketball fan you are.

Thanks for posting Wireman, and thanks for always adding to the conversation. Whether I agree with you or not I like discussing the rumors that are floating around and reading your opinions. That is what a message board is all about. If we all agreed it would be pretty boring.

No, you didn't offend me at all. For anyone that has never suffered from OCD or the like, it doesn't sound like it's that big of a deal. I can look back at posts from even a few months ago and I ask myself "why did you respond that way?" It is kind of embarrassing for me to know that I acted that way, but I think it is necessary to explain myself - even though I'm embarrassed. OCD is a real problem and I'm absolutely sure that on a site of this size, there are several members that are struggling the same way that I have been. I hope anyone in that situation can see my story and realize that it's not a bad thing to be sick, but it is necessary to realize the problem and get it fixed. For many years, I have denied that anything was wrong because I didn't want to feel "crazy", but now I'm just so thankful because I can feel normal again.

Wireman, thanks for sharing that. I, too, have been diagnosed with OCD, only mine was more the compulsive side. From my earliest memories, I have been a counter. My mom said she thought I was just clumsy, but oftentimes I would be walking and trip trying to land on even numbers with my steps. If I touched one side of my face, I had to touch the other--odd numbers drove me nuts. I was convinced if I didn't even things out, something bad would happen to someone I love. I kept it pretty much in check until after the birth of my first child. Suddenly, my neatly constructed life spun out of control, at least in my eyes. I had no obvious schedule and I had a hard time dealing with all the uncertainty a new baby brings. My son would nurse on one side and then not want to nurse on the other, and that drove me crazy. I was uneven! No one had any idea how much I was struggling until finally I broke down when he was about 7 months old. My husband was so understanding and helped me so much through such a tough time. He never once looked at me like I was crazy (which I kinda was) and for that I will always be so thankful to him. I got some counseling help and was put on medication, which really pulled me out of the funk (take that, Tom Cruise!) Now, 11 years later I still take Wellbutrin every day and I no longer count in my head. I used to "type" sentences out in my brain while I was speaking, but I don't do that any more either. I don't touch things compulsively, like a hot stove or a knife, just to see if it is hot or if it will cut me. I never realized how bad I was until I was able to control it. And just as a testament to how much better I am, I have FIVE children! Yes, a dreaded, horrible odd number. Hang in there, Wireman. If you follow your professional's advice and not try to do it on your own, you will get better. It takes a while, but no one should have to live in their own private hell--I know, I've been there.
