Guess I was a few minutes late...sorry Scribe. I didn't see your thread.

Good for him. That is an Atlantic-10 school.

They've traditionally been very good but have struggled lately. The move from C-USA to Atlantic-10 has actually seemed to work against them. Hopefully recruits like Guyn will help them move back to the top of the league.

Congrats! I've always thought that it is helpful to have this decision out of the way prior to the start of the season - one less thing to worry about.

Thats good for Guyn! Its always great to see Kentucky boys go D-1 to a very good program. Charlotte used to be in the NCAA tournament every year and with a coach like they have I think they will be back there very soon.

Takes me back to the days of Cornbread Maxwell. I don't know if they went to the NCAAs when he was there, but when I think of UNC-Charlotte basketball, I think of Cornbread.

They made the final four with Maxwell in 1977, and lost to eventual champion Marquette in the semifinals.

I think of Diego Guevara.

I never thought much of him. Guevara that is. Congrats and best of luck. Charlotte will have a good one there!!!

Charlotte hasn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2005 and haven't won a tournament game since beating Tennessee (Jerry Green, anyone?:D) in Dayton in 2001.

In all they've been to the tournament 11 times since 1977. That '77 team that went to the Final Four (lost to UNLV to finish fourth) was the first 49er team to go to the tournament. They haven't been to the Sweet 16 since (four second round losses - '97, '98, '99, '01).
