Bass would have been a better fit in Portland, and Milsap in Orlando, but they can do what they want with their money I guess.

I think they're comparable in skill set and value, Bass has a better face-up game and Milsap the better rebounder. If they could have got Milsap for the same price they got Bass, I would have liked that move as well.

Sometimes I feel like I could be a better GM than most these guys I just don't why they continue to shell out crazy money to guys like that. Don't get me wrong he is a good player.

July 14, 200917 yr Looks like the Lakers and Odom are getting close on a deal. If the Lakers keep Odom, I really like their prospects for 2010 with Artest taking Ariza's place. If Bynum stays healthy for an entire season (and that may be a big if considering his history), they should return to the finals at the least...and should be a favorite to repeat. I think Artest will add a lot of toughness and upgrade their defense significantly.

If the Celtics can get a scorer for the shooting guard/small forward to come OFF the bench, I think they can give the Lakers a run for their money with healthy Garnett/Pierce/Allen.

He wants 10 million per season, the Lakers have offered 8 and they are saying that Jerry Buss could pull the deal off of the table. Kupchak said he isn't sure they are on the same page and that he understands it's a process and is surprised it has taken this long. Dallas has contacted Odom's agent, but they can't offer more than 5.8 a year. Stay tuned. IMO, I doubt he leaves L.A. and I could see L.A. giving in and giving him his 10 million. Doesn't matter if he does or not, the issue at hand is the luxury tax which is going to be high even if they don't sign Lamar. Whether Kobe kicks back extra money isn't going to matter. When they sign him, his whole salary factors into being that much more over the luxury tax. The thing is, they can afford to pay the luxury tax, while a lot of other teams cannot.

They are about 20 Mil over already so it doesn't really matter. :lol: Jerry Buss makes a CRAZY amount of money of that team every year he can afford to go beyond and get the players he needs.
