July 15, 200917 yr Ron Artest just got some more touches. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4328376 Good job Lamar. Your agent and Ariza's agent should have lunch together. Unbelievable. What really ticks me off about this is that Odom was asking for 10 million per season, the Lakers initial offer was 8 million per season. The Lakers then met in the middle and went to 9 million per season and he still says no. Now he can go play for the Heat or the Mavericks for only 5.8 million because that's all those teams can afford to pay him. I just don't get it.:idunno: I think he still ends up in L.A.
July 15, 200917 yr I don't know if this was posted or not but Dahntay Jones signed with the Pacers. http://www.nba.com/2009/news/07/14/pacers.jones.ap/index.html
July 15, 200917 yr Are you predicting a Laker return for Odom as well? Or just not Dallas? I figure he ends up in LA but I'd love to see him go to Miami or the Lebrons. Just that he won't be in Dallas.
July 15, 200917 yr An interesting question to debate....If Odom goes elsewhere, are the Lakers really better next season? Sure they added Artest, but lose both Odom and Ariza. Does Artest coming outweigh the losses of both?
July 15, 200917 yr Nate Robinson to Greece??? http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Suicide-lines-Childress-headed-back-to-Greece-?urn=nba,176319 If so, he will be on the same team as Josh Childress They may aslo go after Ramon Sessions who had a break out year this past season...

July 15, 200917 yr If the Celtics can get a scorer for the shooting guard/small forward to come OFF the bench, I think they can give the Lakers a run for their money with healthy Garnett/Pierce/Allen. I think they can give them a run for their money with what they have right now if they stay healthy. I'd just rate LA as the pre-season favorite.

Does Artest coming outweigh the losses of both? No, they won't be better...there's a chance they could be better depending on Andrew Bynum's health and progress. The big factor with Dallas and Miami is that Odom won't have to pay state taxes there...in LA Odom will be paying 10.3%. To put it simply, an 8.07 million dollar offer from Miami or Dallas would be the equivalent of the 9 million dollars LA was prepared to pay him. Something to consider... Lamar said he likes the beach. I say Miami is where he'll be if a deal with LA doesn't get done...

July 15, 200917 yr Not even close IMO. Artest isn't equal to both. It's debateable if Artest would even offset Odom, much less both guys. I'd certainly rather have Odom when he's focused and playing hard. That's the pro with Artest, he gives you the effort always. But, he's also a risk for a blow up.
July 15, 200917 yr IMO Lakers resign Odom, and will eventually pay him his 10 mil. If they don't, that Ron Artest signing will be all for none, imo.
