May 30, 200917 yr I guess we can assume they all cheated then The reason they wait is to squeak in.......take 3 times and get a 13 then all of the sudden get a 18....................................
May 31, 200917 yr How is it that Mark Story, Pat Forde, and Jerry Tipton have written numerous articles on this subject yet never, not even once, have they mentioned this? I suppose they were just doing their job.
May 31, 200917 yr Author Many of these columnists are diving into sensationalistic journalism. At the very worst, the airfare is a secondary violation. Evidence shows R. Rose paid for trips and at worst is a mix of paperwork. The Rose issue is with CPS and Simeon, not Memphis. Cal is being dragged through this...

May 31, 200917 yr I think GT meant some kids just put it off to the very end. I was simply using those three as examples well known on this site. It happens a lot more than people realize...

Like I said in another thread, the only chance anyone is going to read what these clowns write is for them to stir up emotions. By the time you get your newspaper it is old news. In other words newspapers are becoming alot less about news and more about opinions and controversial opinions sell. Just a cut about the National Enquirer.
May 31, 200917 yr You'd be surprised at the number of kids that haven't taken it until the end of their SR year. Cousins, Wall and Bledsoe all fit that description.... I have never understood that. We were always told by our HS coaches to take it as early as possible so that if we weren't happy with the score, we could always retake it. That was the early 1980's, but I can't see that it doesn't make sense now.

I have serious questions there on one of the guys I mentioned for very good reason...
May 31, 200917 yr DeCoursey as usual delivers an excellent read. This is the type of stuff that needs to be out there that most people are not going to see or know about. I loved this quote and it is so true........"The only good news for Calipari in all this is the NCAA pretty much turned over the tables in the Tigers basketball program once it entered the door to check on women's golf. If this is all there was to find, the basketball program was being run reasonably well." Funny how w/all the articles written about Coach Cal in the last few days regarding this situation, this is the first take I have seen like this! Kudos to Mike DeCoursey!!!

With what is being reported in the Chicago media, it sure seems the Rose issue is much more a Chicago thing than a U. of Memphis thing.
May 31, 200917 yr It won't play like that publicly, though. Memphis has some serious allegations to defend in women's golf, but no one really noticed those issues existed. The NCAA justice system is a complicated apparatus that sometimes defies easy explanation. It's not so tough to figure out who is a star and who is not. Great quote. Puts it in to perspective as to why all of this is such a big deal.
May 31, 200917 yr You know isn't it funny how certian posters were teeing off on UK and it's fans in other threads but absent from this discussion?
May 31, 200917 yr Author The practice of forging transcripts and fixing tests is pretty wide spread right now. I have serious questions there on one of the guys I mentioned for very good reason... I assume you are talking Bledsoe, because you were one who had serious doubts about his position of becoming eligible. Didn't he come from a school that closed or consolidated?

I think so. His transcripts weren't sent out until very late in the process, and that raises a big red flag IMO...
