Maybe it's just me but I HATE the way some teams do business. You can't get a 7th round pick from somebody like Buff for a former 1st round pick? That's awful! Same goes with getting nothing for guys like TJ. Sorry business IMO. Nobdody talks about it but I think that's why teams like New England are so good. Look at how many picks they had this year and I think 5 in the 1st two rounds next year. Packaging those late picks moves you up the board for the guy you want and gives you trade bait.

Not sure why anyone likes this move. Where is the depth? Now a rookie has to start, and what if a tackle gets hurt? Who comes in then? Was he really that expensive to keep?

Not a big fan of Lookout, but I tend to agree with you. Besides a rook at LT, you have an inadequate center or a rook at that spot, and a very inexperienced Collins at RT. I can't say that 3 mil was too much to keep him. Keep in mind what they paid Andrews last year.

At this point a RC or free agent would be better than Jones. They were much better last year after he got hurt and wasn't playing. Anthony Collins filled in and did a great job, that was when they actually started moving the ball last year. I would say Collins will take the spot.

It was a good move, Jones is washed up. It will save them about 3 million too.

The guy isn't going to sit there quietly in a backup role. Plus, when the world knows he's going to be released, no-one will trade anything for him. They'll just sit back a wait.

As for depth, I think they'll be hurting a little at that tackle position. If Smith or Collins were to go down, Whitworth would fill in, but after him, there really isn't much there. As for the starting lineup, I think it will look something like this (from left to right): Collins - Whit - Santucci/Luigs - Williams - Smith

I think them cutting Levi shows that they will actually try to keep Smith at LT, and just move Collins to RT. I could be wrong, but that is what I will do. I think if they think he was good enough to use the 6th pick on, then should atleast try him at the spot he dominated at college at and that is LT.

I disagree. I mean Jones really has not been healthy since the 2005 season. When he has been healthy he has been a very good LT for the Bengals. The problem is he just hasn't been healthy. I mean yeah maybe he will never be truly healthy again football wise. However I think that is a chance they could have taken, because if he could be healthy he would have been a very good backup to have, and definitely better than other free agents out there.

I think it was a good move and they obviously do not feel he can help them or they would have retained him!

For some on here, regardless of what the BENGALS do, they are gonna complain to no end! It is just how it goes!

John Thornton seems to think he has no chance at being a good LT in the league but he'll be an all pro RT. I can't say I know enough about it so I'll go w/ him and say he starts at RT.
