Best 10-Year Runs

Featured Replies

CentreRocks thread about teams of the decade got me thinking about my home school. Breathitt County had a phenomenal stretch beginning in the mid-'90's. It's similar to the previous thread, but I'm curious to see what each schools best 10-year stretch has been and who has had the best 10-year periods whether they're all in one decade or overlap.

Breathitt County (1995-2004)

*Overall: 114-18 (.864)

*Post-season: 26-6 (.813)

*Note: This includes one forfeit win over Prestonsburg that was previously a loss.

3 State Championships

3 Perfect Seasons (15-0)

4 Regional Championships

2 Regional Runner-ups

42-game win streak from '95-97; tied Danville for the second longest in state history at the time; currently third longest I believe

I know there have to be some awesome stretches from other schools...Boyle's best 10 years I would imagine are pretty impressive. Also, I recall Danville being on a 69-2 stretch prior to us playing them in the 1995 State Semi-finals.

Boyle County

1996-2005

125-14 (I think).

Post-Season 36-5 (?)

Five State Titles. (1999, 2000,2001,2002,2003)

1 Runner-up (2004)

4 Perfect Seasons (15-0)

47 game winning streak. (Second longest in history)

1 Semi-Final Appearance. (1996)

1 other Perfect Regular Season (1997)

Danville

1985 - 1994

125-15 (? Really not positive and was using memory for some)

Post-Season: 35-5?

Five State Titles. (1987, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1994)

3 Semi-Final Appearances (1986, 1988, 1993)

Two Perfect Seasons (1992, 1994)

42 Game Winning Streak (Third Longest in history)

If you could take the previous year (1984) Danville was 13-0 and AAA state champs to add to the others listed.

Beechwood

1991-2000

Overall: 126-13

Post-Season: 43-3

Seven State Titles. (1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1999)

One State Runners-up. 1995

State Semi-Finalist. 1998

Three Undefeated Seasons. (1991, 1994, 1997)

38 Game Winning Streak

Good stuff. Some really impressive runs there...

Corbin's best 10 year period in my opinion would be from 1975 through 1984.

3 State Titles

1 Runner-up

4 seasons that did not end in the title game where they finished 10-1, 12-1, 10-1 and 10-1(they did not even make the playoffs in 2 of the years that they only lost one game).

Boyle County

1996-2005

125-14 (I think).

Post-Season 36-5 (?)

Actually for Danville, 86-95. In 95 they were 12-2 lost in the semi's. In 85 they were beaten in the region by Newport in a mudfest.

Lynch from 1959 thru 1969 4 State Championships

2 State Runner-ups

Let us never forget these great teams that no longer have a school. Their accomplishments are forever carved into KY high school football history, and may they never be forgotten.

With Trinity I am not sure which era to start with.

Belfry 1999-2008

Regular Season Record 80-20 (80%)

Playoff Record 29-8 (78.4%)

Overall Record 109-28 (79.6%)

2 State Championships (2003, 2004)

1 State Runner Up (2007)

6 Semi-Finals Appearances (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008)

6 Regional Championships (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008)

It was a question to me where to put the line as well. The only reason I went with '85 was while that Ads team lost in the Regional to Newport, I seem to remember them having only one loss in the regular season. Of course I could be wrong.

I have no problem at all with your time frame Okie. :thumb:

I would love to see the 10 year span that includes the 50 game winning streak and compared to the last 10 year span. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong at all Pep. :thumb:

You could probably just post Trinity by each decade...

Seriously, have they had a more impressive stretch than the one they're currently on. I do know they have the state's longest win streak at 50. Is there a 10-year stretch that encompasses that streak that can surpass their last 10 years?

I'm quite bitter about these. I didn't experience them myself, but Trinity's outstanding teams those two years is the reason Warren Central doesn't have a state title.
