Before the arm injury the Jets looked like the best team in the AFC. They destroyed the Titans and outscored the Pats in NE for a primetime game. The question becomes was it old age or injury that caused him to lose it late in the year? He also wouldn't have to deal w/ the NY cold weather and wind. He wants to shove it to GB so bad that I think he'll get himself in great shape. It all depends on the arm injury.

And that's another thing: why does he want to shove it to Green Bay so bad? He retired and they moved on with another quarterback. Four months later he wanted to come back. The Pack had already moved on. Why would he fault them?

 

I've never been a huge Favre fan so maybe my argument is a little one-sided, but he seems a bit spoiled, a bit selfish, a player who always wants his way, and expects everyone else to bend to his wishes.

He's a competitor and still one of the best in the game and a top 5 all time QB. I have no problem with what he's doing. He's a grown and talented man, he can do what he wants. It's no one elses decision but his own to retire. How would you feel if people you didn't know were telling you how to live you're life?

Rocket, I understand your point. And I honestly don't care if Brett plays for Green Bay, New York, Minnesota or the Lexington Horsemen. I just don't care for his "I'm retiring, I'm done, no wait, I'm coming back" routine. It's tired.

 

And I'm not saying how he should live his life or operate his career. I just think it's a whole lot of time and money for limited reward for all involved. Just an opinion.

They told him they wanted him to make a decision before he wanted to make it. I don't care one way or the other but he wanted to decide in spring or summer and he thought that he deserved the right to decide when he was ready. I agree w/ his position on that. I also see why GB wanted an early decision. He also thinks that when he decided to come back he wanted to go to GB or decide where he wanted to go if they no longer wanted him instead of them telling him where he couldn't play. That's why he wants to stick it to them.

The Vikings will be good with or without Favre. Honestly, I don't think he adds much at this point. He was pretty bad at the end of the season.

I just do not think that he can play a 16 game season to his highest ability like he used to. Do not get me wrong, he is one of my favorites of all time, but Brett it is time to hang em up.

I think had he played the "call everyone to get a tryout" game it'd be one thing. But after the season he hung it up, then the Jets cut him and the Vikes come a calling. Can't blame him for entertaining the idea!

I have no problem with the Favre entertaining the Vikes. I think that's where he wanted to go originally anyway.

I don't like the drama of 'I'm done', ... then 'No I'm not', ... then, 'I'm really done', ... then 'I still wanna play', ... etc. Too much drama.

 

However, he was better than many NFL QB's last year at 39. Slowed by injury at the end of the season, he did not finish anywhere like he started out. Could see the same thing in Minnesota if he does come back as his body starts to break down.

 

But he is still one of the best ever. Yes, he has thrown more INTs than anyone. But if you throw more passes than anyone, chances are that you will throw more INTs. He has also thrown more TDs as well. His INT ratio is still better than many in the hall of fame. If he wants to come back, that is up to the Vikings and Favre. However, I have to wonder how much he has left in the tank.

I have said it before, and I will say it again: he throws so many INT's because he lets receivers make plays. He doesn't only throw open passes, he throws the balls up for receivers to make the play on. That is why his receivers love him. That is also why he has so many TD passes, and INT's.

I hope he does,just adds more excitement to everything.
