After watching the documentary on Ovechkin today I had to vote for him lol...

I would still take MJ over all of them.

I took Josh Beckett, and not just because I'm a Red Sox fan. I believe that Beckett and Brodeur are 1 and 2 because they can directly affect the game. If Beckett goes out and pitches a CG shutout (which he has before) then his team will win. If Brodeur goes out and saves every shot (which he has before) then his team will win. If Kobe or Lebron go out and score 40+, his team is not guaranteed to win. For example, last year Lebron scored 45 in Game 7 vs the Celtics, and the Celtics won.

That's why I went with Beckett (and Brodeur could make a case as well)

Since Tiger Woods is in an individual sport and can't be on this list, I voted for LBJ. Homer pick, but oh well.

Lebron. He lacks the experience but I would take my chances because he is the best player in the NBA in my opinion. (him and Kobe are close)

Kobe just because the enormity of his playoff body of work. BTW it really pained me to pick him

I'd take Brodeur. He's among the best goaltenders of all time.

From wikipedia on Brodeur, which is probably the real answer even though we do not know as much about him...

Playoffs

  • Most shutouts in a playoff (7, in 2002–03)
  • Most shutouts in playoffs, career: 23

Tied with Patrick Roy.

  • Most shutouts in a Stanley Cup final (3, in 2002–03)

Tied with Toronto Maple Leafs' Frank McCool.

  • 2nd place: 94 Wins
  • 3rd goaltender to win the Stanley Cup with a Game-7 shutout in 2002–03.
  • 1st goaltender in history to have 3 shutouts in two different playoff series. (1995 against Boston in the Conference Quarterfinals, 2003 against Anaheim in the Stanley Cup final.)

Didn't Brodeur give up 2 goals in the last minute of game 7 last night to lose a series? I think he's officially eliminated. :thumb:

One of the last 2 goals was soft, one was a wicked shot. Both had defensive break-downs in front of him. I'd still take Brodeur regardless of what happened last night.

But he did lose a one goal lead in a Game 7 with less than 2 minutes left and then lost the game. This is a pretty select list and one meltdown like that is enough to put the others ahead.
