Far too many posts on here to start quoting. As a teacher if I posed nude in a national publication would I expect to get fired? Without question I would. Does that make it right? That is a whole new argument. As a coach that is not a teacher in the system do I have the same guidelines? Most definitely Not! They are far more expendable. I would expect as a paraprofessional coach that I must be very careful on moral issues. Many, like myself, do not believe that paraprofessionals should be placed in a coaching position unless it cant be filled otherwise. If they screw up royally they lose 1k a year. If a teacher is coaching and screws up it could cost them their job and their career.

 

Staying away from what is right and wrong, people within the system could see something like this coming a mile away. You are walking a thin line just coaching as a paraprofessional.

 

To the sports fans here I would compare this weakly to a walkon. If a five star player has issues with another player you work on the problem. If a walkon has issues you get rid of the walkon.

 

If I posted on here what I know for a fact what coaching paraprofessionals have been guilty of, I wouldnt be here long. There is a reason for the short leash.

Your point that the one you worked with was a great teacher and the one that I worked with did molest, leaves us at a 50% ratio. If you want to leave it at that, you lose. My point is that one or two examples means nothing. I will ask you this, why do most gay male teachers teach elementary?

Its not prejudice when the statistics will back it up. Someone show me the statistics of admitted gays in elementary as opposed to those in middle school and high school and make your own logical conclusions!

Nope. I'm opposed, resistant to their life style, not the person. God tell us to love everyone, but that doesn't mean we have to accept or love their way of life. I don't anyone living that lifestyle teaching or having any influence on my children.
