My concern with the "fire her" thinking is inconsistency.

 

If I'm following along people want her fired because of the potential negative impact on the child. The "they look up to her" and she has "influence" response is short-sighted IMO. If our true problem is the potential impact or the fact that the "role model" is not perfect then we are going to have trouble finding people to fill those shoes.

 

I don't want my child to be divorced some day. Should I worry about them being coached by a divorced person? What if they get the impression that the lifestyle is not that bad?

 

I don't want my children to be single parents/unmarried mothers? Should we fire Betty the English teacher who had a child out of wedlock?

 

I don't want my children to drink excessively when they are of age. What if they see the Football coach out at a bar and its obvious he has had too much to drink?

 

I would assume most would say no to the above examples which makes me ask "why this?"

That's where my mind and your mind are obviously way different. There is a huge difference in appreciating the beauty of ladies in sun dresses over watching horses than lusting after a woman in a Play Boy magazine. Not everyone has their minds in the gutter, but obviously you have a one track mind.

So, once a woman takes her clothes off you can't "appreciate her beauty"? When I was 15 or so I would call looking at a Playboy "lusting" after the woman. To be as cliche as possible I really only have a subscription to Playboy for the articles. The pictures aren't bad, but I hardly lust over them.

 

Btw, it seems you haven't been to Keeneland in awhile either, because the sun dresses many have on are no different than what you'll find in a ton of mens magazines these days.

I was at Keeneland Saturday. There is almost nothing left to the imagination with the dresses they wear, but hey, I guess that's acceptable but "racy" pictures aren't....:idunno:

I see no reason why she needed to be fired. In my mind this is the same logic that was used to try and prevent homosexuals from teaching. If she was doing a good job this doesn't affect it in any way.

I believe that I did. I am making no distinctions as far as gender goes with my opinions. How I feel about the issue has nothing to do with her being female, as opposed to male.

I wouldn't have cared, much like I don't care that she did, and I can almost guarantee there wouldn't be a thread on here about it.

I wouldn't want my 16 year old daughter being coached/mentored by someone who thinks it is ok to pose nude.
