Bellevue 2009/2010

Featured Replies

I would say that the reason that most Bellevue students probably "don't get asked" to play basketball is, from my time living in the city and from those that I still know living there, there have not been too many reports of any 6'6" PG's or 6'9"+ big men in the district.

My previous comment was meant as, even if they don't get asked to play, it at least seems to outsiders that football players are encouraged to play since again most of the basketball roster was on the football roster.

Rumor has it that several (more than two) of next years seniors will not be playing. But we also know how that goes when the season roles around you never know. Also probably depends on the enthusiasm a new hire can bring.

I think Sanders would entertain the idea of getting involved again.

I wouldn't bet on this one.

I wouldn't bet on this one.

Its hard to be a varsity coach in one sport and be an assistant in another. He may entertain the idea if the right coach was hired.

Why would you have to ask the kids of Bellevue to play sports ? Are they that LAZY ? The good ones donot need a push they go get it done . Maybe thats why Bellevue cannot keep a coach if they need to ask kids to play GIVE ME A BREAK , By the way tell the boys to pull their pants up in that town its getting bad looking at boys walking down the street looking like that . By the way is there any FULL COURT BASKETBALL BEING PLAYED IN BELLEVUE ALL I SEE IS HALF COURT , Another give a break .

Sounds like the whole town of Bellevue is bothering you. Better take this up with the mayor.

If anyone could get the city of Bellevue to turn Swope park into a full court be my guest. Living in Bellevue for quite sometime that is always what people have wanted. The city won't do it.

Yes making that court a full court would make sense. But in order to improve Bellevue's program will take more than keeping shorts pulled up on the avenue:madman:

As far as asking kids to play........there have been some key athletes each year that are not football players that are being called in and asked to play football. These kids are basketball players who have made on impact on football as 1 year or 2 year players. The kids are not lazy and it is not a majority. My issue is the whole focus is on football and other sports are getting second tier status.

Then you have issue with the majority of high schools. Football gets top billing at most places because it is a revenue sport. Without football bringing in gate money alot of other sports dont exist; especially in small districts such as Bellevue.

Speaking of revenue, from what I hear things are going pretty well in Bellevue. For some reason :sssh:, the money made at the gate this year was much higher than the past several years. The athletic department will finish in the black for the first time in several years. Bellevue boosters know the reason for both.

Any news on who the new coach is?
