Bob Knight to Memphis? That certainly won't fly with the type of players that are in there now. Not a good fit at all!

I was wondering that same thing. Would be interesting though if The General came back.

I dont' think Pearl should leave the Vols...I like him there.

Given the performance of some of the TV "sports journalists" lately, I'm not sure whether to believe much of anything at this point.

The title of this thread makes it sound definate. I read the article and one "sports Journalist" had an unidentified "source". Another news organization said that it was all be denied.

 

When I hear it from the Pearl himself, I will buy in.

I mean no disrespect to UT fans, but what has Pearl done to deserve a 3+ million dollar salary annually?

They are better than when he got there, but that's about all I can see.

Yeah, I mean he has recruited good players and won 20+ games, but he hasn't exactly taken them to the final four or anything. He's a good coach, but I'm not sure he is a great coach.

The man has won everywhere he's been, and Pearl has gotten Tennessee fans excited about the men's basketball team, which counts for a lot. He's been able to get some big-time talent to come there. I just don't think his teams play very good defense.

Pearl's numbers before UT speak for themselves. Whether he can get it done at a major program is the real question here...
