UW-Milwaukee numbers are impressive. At UT, for UT's normal standards, that is really good.

April 2, 200917 yr Yeah, I mean he has recruited good players and won 20+ games, but he hasn't exactly taken them to the final four or anything. He's a good coach, but I'm not sure he is a great coach. I think its hard to make a judgement on Pearl, until he has a couple years without Lofton. He doesn't have the best shooter in the nation on his team anymore, and we seen how his team didn't do as well this year as it had. So we will see how good of a coach he really is. Will the keep going down now without having Lofton anymore, or will he get them back to what they were with Lofton.

April 3, 200917 yr GREAT! I love the fact he is staying put. I agree and disagree, I mean he did build UT from the bottom up, but look where Memphis now, their at National Power House. Now the question is how will the returning Memphis players respond to a new coach! I do think Pearl would be a good fit for Memphis but it's his choice and only my opinion!

April 3, 200917 yr What Memphis has to realize is being in Conference USA just does not allow them to throw money and expect it to stick. That money can be matched by "BCS" conferences and brings along the national exposure. Lets face it.......from January through early March Memphis is a non factor on the national scene.
