I know this may be naive view, but, in all districts (I am not singling out Trimble), shouldn't teaching jobs be based on classroom performance and not field performance?

To a degree you are right, but shouldn't a school be full of qualified folks who also take an interest in school spirit, extra-curriculars, and sports? When an oppurtunity is given to have your cake and eat it two why not take advantage. I find that most good coaches are good teachers.

I could not agree more. My problem is the "letting go" of a good teacher to get a coach. And the term "letting go" is such a open term so people can think a lot when that is said. Best of luck to the new coach there he has some shoes to fill. When are they going to "offically" name the coach?

Who knows. Last week somebody on here said a coach had been chosen, so I figured they would have officially named him by now.

There should be an EQUAL empahsis on ahtletics and athletics. This why Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia...etc. Are so far ahead. Those folks figured that out decades ago.

Sorry, that should have read academics and athletics...

Do you really believe that Academics and athletics should be considered equal in a school system?

True Blue maybe Tiger knows more than you. Sounds like he may have the inside story?

Yes, why shouldn't they? Athletics leads to involvment in school activities, that leads to school pride, pride leads to better academic acheivement and school climate...most great schools have both. Highlands, Bardstown, Beechwood, Mayfield, Danville, Boyle...all good athletic programs, equally good academics. In my opinion they go hand in hand. When expectations become high in BOTH arenas then that's a school that becomes a draw for EVERY kid.

This has got to be the best example of why my Grandson asked me to please not post, to many people who know alot about nothing running their mouths about something they think they KNOW. If we all used this site for the true benefit of those who are truly the most important (our players, sons , grandsons, students, atheletes) it may be a great thing, but for the 3 years that I have been apart of this site and dont get me wrong I am a little guilty as well, the majority of what I have witnessed has been all about garbage (a bunch of trash talking) or nothing. Get back to praising and raising up the ones that deserve to be, THE PLAYERS. Without which none of you, including myself would have anything at all to talk about.:irked:

I would like to wish TC the best of Luck on there hunt for a New Coach and I hope that they find one who will be a true benefit to those who are my concern the players. Also to those of you who have kept the boys in the weight room Thank You for your dedication:thumb:

P.S. When you do announce it to the kids, lets us true fans know who it is Thanks:D

Trimble County High School has announced a meeting at 3:00 pm on Monday afternoon for the team to meet their new coach.

You know my style...you won't get a name from me until the kids have been told. :sssh: I will post at 3:01 pm or there abouts!

I am glad they have somebody and hope they do well. It will be good for the players to finally have somebody in place.

Told us what? Iroquois also became open today and Walton Verona, according to the KHSAA website and JCPS.

You are correct, but the new football coach is from my earlier post. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh, I see now. Sorry for my confusion. I guess we will have to wait and see since True blue and gold wont leak any info.
