I would say you are right it must be nice to be on break.

Wonder if the HC from Georgia is the one who was hc at Whitley for about a month and left for Ga.??? It's a long-shot, but possible... I agree that they need to fill this ASAP. Seemed like they spun their wheels a little with the NL job before filling it. They don't have the luxury of time on this one, or at least not in my opinion.

From what I have heard they will not have many openings for teachers. I think they will try to hire from inside, possibly a current asst.

That doesn't sound like a school that wants to be a serious football school. If they really want to do what's best for the kids and for their program they need to make room for a coach.

From the outside looking in, it's tough to believe that they have budget problems and can't make something happen if the right guy applied.

In Laurel County, they don't create teaching positions for coaches. If they are available, fine, .. if not, it makes it tough. North is having a tough time getting some assistant jobs filled for the same reason.

Let the South Laurel basketball job come open and you'll see how creative they are in Laurel Co.

 

They give lip service to football in Laurel Co. and that is about it.

I thought they could hire a head coach, and promise to find a position for him, but the problem comes in finding positions for any assistant coaches.

That is true. But for many of these head coaching candidates, they normally have a certain number of assistants they want to bring in with them and that is where the problem comes in. Several of the NL coaching candidates wanted 5-6 jobs for assistant coaches, and the school just couldn't do it. They will have the same problem at South.

I agree.

I think South has a few quality coaches...they have some young guys in place that would also likely stay on board...IF they are loyal. LOYALTY is crucial in a football program, especially when keeping assistants on board from a previous staff.
