They love him but they don't come to the game to support the team. I was at the UK game in Gainesville and the cracker jack box had about 3000 empty seats. He's complained about this for a few years now.

He's complained about this for a few years now.He hasn't complained since the 2 national titles and his Magic fiasco. Billy's been here long enough to know basketball doesn't draw in Florida. Neither of the national championship seasons sold out every game. Based on my sources (the Tampa Tribune and St. Pete Times) I think he's perfectly happy playing second fiddle to the football program and see no chance of him coming to UK.

He does that at Kentucky and he's got "For Sale" signs in his yard and his kids are harassed every day at school. Donovan has everything at Florida that he could have at Kentucky — a chance to compete for a national title and a big-time salary — except 23,000 fans at every home game. Unfortunately, with those extra bodies in the seats comes a couple of tons worth of unreasonable expectations and relentless scrutiny.

March 28, 200917 yr I firmly believe if Donovan (or Calipari) is going to be their man, then it will happen quickly; or might have already. You'd think Barnhart would have had a guy like this in place when he fired BCG, if they were his main targets. If the search goes on much longer, I think they were either turned down (for real, not just in the press); or never had any real interest in Donovan or Calipari.
